We runners in MN have the same rule, pansy-ass.

You can wear shorts outside in January anywhere. You just might get cold.

I love my province for its mountains and people, the -32 degree weather I can do without.

. . . so cold . . .

I live in NM and work in TX.
My part of TX is suck-ass, wind blown and dirty. But the hookers are crossing the river, btw.

Best thing about Illinois?

We aren't Texas. Or Ohio. Or Florida.

2012-01-19 10:42:07 PM
That we don't have over 30 days in a row of 100+ degree days. Ever.

We've got nice beaches, nice mountains, lots of racing and it's halfway between my family in western Mass and the part of Florida worth going to.

Hell, I had the fan in the window earlier this evening. Kinda makes me miss all of the snow we had last year.

It's not Texas. Problem is that it is Pennsylvania. soooo there's that.

2012-01-19 10:44:23 PM
I can do that on some January days but it isn't something to brag about.

32 years and I have never really been one to need coffee to wake up. I actually rarely drink it. I would have a cup now just cause it sound yummy... but I have yet to learn how to work the new fancy k-cup thing, so I will just drink my Sprite in my nice a/c filled apartment and enjoy.

I automatically became richer and more attractive by moving here. I'm afraid to move back to the northeast someday.

Utah has one of the very strongest economies in the United States. Our median household income is more than $10K than the national. Our unemployment rate is like 2.5 points lower than the national. Plus Salt Lake City is the gayest city in the US or something like that according to The Advocate or some publication like that.

Seeing as The FBI now apparently has power to control the NZ police, I guess I can say I'm happy New Zealand is officially the 51st American State.

I like the cultural convergence and the fact that when you get tired of the masses of people you can jump on a train and be in the mountains or by the ocean rather quickly.

NC is really pretty. And me saying that is a big deal because I am one of those Texans that is full of pride and boastfulness that makes people hate Texans. But NC is one of the few places I thought would be cool to live. I knew a professional golf caddy(he worked on the LPGA tour) that lived there, he would send pictures that looked so nice, then I realized I would never afford the kind of places he hung out at... and I can go to beautiful places in Texas for free.

Yeah, that's the downside.

In addition to the "shorts all year" thing, we have pretty awesome food.

Mr. Ermey was perfect for that role, but his little tirade was extremely offensive.

I don't know. There isn't really much I don't like about it, so.. there's that, I suppose.

Yeah, but from where I am, both are within 2 hours of me.

This state (Western Washington, anyway): the whole place shuts down at the first sign of snow.

My neighborhood: the power goes out whenever anyone sneezes in our direction, which is why I'm now holed up in a crappy motel with my husband, my 5-year-old son, my two dogs, and my gecko - at least until Saturday. And my husband didn't even THINK to ask about getting two adjoining rooms when he booked us in here. So now when my kid goes to sleep, we get to sit in the dark silently until we're ready for bed. And since I don't sleep until about 5am or so these days (I tend to sleep during the day to catch up) I apparently won't be sleeping at all, as the kid is up at 6am, and once he's up we'll ALL be up.

/yeah, I'm a little bit grouchy
//they went out for dinner without me, too.

I don't drink coffee either but don't you just put in the cup and hit a button and you get brewed coffee?

Diversity of population, on the atlantic and a short drive to the mountains (or what we call mountains in the northeast)

I don't know how to open it to put the cup in, and well if I break it I do not want to face the wrath of the Polak. He said he would teach me, but I kinda like not knowing so he makes me a cup... until he is at work and I think a cup would be nice.

It's slowly improving. I've been pretty lucky. I got laid off in 2009 and found something right away at a place I like a lot better. Weren't you thinking of moving here at one point?

Although I was born and raised here, I left this state when I was 14 and then came back in 2010. I do not understand the insane pride people have in Jersey.

Especially here in South Jersey.

Lots of bumper stickers about pride in Jersey. My buddy owns two stores and a website devoted only to selling bumper stickers, t-shirts, and stuff related to Jersey.

There is a curved bar around the front, pull up on that and the the top will pop open revealing where to place the K-cup.

That's how the one in my office works. I use it for hot cocoa some times.
