quantum_jellyroll: I heard back from my imaginary friend "Joanne" in the Philippines...

==============================================

Hello,

Glad you replied back to my email. I have nothing left on me and I'm grateful to God that I still have my life and passport cause it would have been worst if they made away with my passport. As we speak I need $1650.00 USD to add up and sort my bills, don't worry I will def refund it as soon as I get back home, the fastest and safest means you can get money to me is via Western Union Money Transfer

These is all you need in sending the money via Western Union

Receivers Name:Joanne {redacted}
Location: Location: 47,simon street,malate
Manila philippines

Please let me know you are leaving for the WU outlet and also get back to me with the Western Union details as soon as you are back.

Thank You
Joanne

==============================================

My reply...

Joanne,
That has to be horrible!
I can't possibly imagine what it must be like!
We just started getting freezing rain and all the kittehs are getting frozen in place! I must help your Aunt Fallopia get them all unstuck and into the barn so they can be milked and sheared in the morning. So it may take a while before I can get someplace to withdraw the money to send.

We don't have any Western Union offices anywhere near.
The police shut them down because of all the internet scammers cheating people.
Can I use Northern Union instead? Would that work?

What about the Merkin Trade Show? Were you able to retain all your samples??
What about your new Echidna model. Tell me they didn't get that too!
Oh, I feel so bad for you!
Here you are just starting out and your dream of becoming an major player in the international merkin trade is just within your reach, and then this!

Stay safe and tell me where the nearest Northern Union office is to you.
That way when the freezing rain stops and we have all the kittehs safely sheared and milked, I can send you the money!
You poor dear!

Ron Jeremy

BWAHAHAHAHAHAH! Oh, that's priceless *wipes tear*

the tabby heathens discovered that looking at water drip out of the faucet (cause I was nice enough to let them see it) was darned cool. Thankfully, at this time, there is nothing horribly embarrassing in the photo. Except the frog in the background.

Cheech loved the snow. This was taken during one of the three big storms in December 2009 / January 2010. He'd just finished racing around chasing snowballs and was waiting for more. I had to shovel out the back yard just so he could get outside - the snow was up to his jaw!

Here's a conundrum for you farkers:

I love cats, and want to get a kitten, but I'm allergic. It's not a bad allergy; if I start playing with a cat, I'll get a little runny nose and itchy eyes if I touch my face near them. This doesn't happen with all cats however. My friend has a young, black, short-haired cat and I've never had an allergic reaction to her (is it just because she's still so young and hasn't developed whatever it is I'm allergic to?). I don't want to go the typical hypoallergenic route and get a Sphinx, (sorry Sphinx lovers, they're just too ugly) or a Siberian (too hairy). Are there any farkers with similar problems and possible solutions? Are there any breeds (maybe similar to my friend's?) that would be ok for me to get? Also, if I do get a kitten, I'd rather not have it declawed. How have you prevented your furniture from being destroyed? One more question (last one, I promise), I travel for my work about once a month, meaning I'm gone for 2 days at a time. Is that too long to leave a young cat alone; will it get bad anxiety/spray everywhere?

//will post pics if I end up getting one

No allergies here, but I have a friend who's son is allergic to cats except Siamese or Siamese mixes... dunno what it is about them, but perhaps someone else here will? Also, good for not wanting to consider declawing! I don't use anything to stop them, except giving lots of alternate approved options for scratching. Others have tried caps for the claws or double sided tape on the areas where the kitty shows an interest in scratching... I haven't tried leaving mine except for single overnight stays, but have house-sat for people with kitties who seemed okay with me coming over once a day to freshen water, fill kibble and scoop the box...
