Did he do this thing? Yes, he did do this thing. Could he have done more things? Yes, he could have done more things. Does that take away his ability to say he did the thing? No, he still did it.

Most people don't pay attention to that stuff too closely. I doubt I would've had it not been brought up, and then I'd be looking like an idiot repeating that stuff to people.

Actually, I can understand what they are attempting to do here.

For both this claim by Obma, and for the "Lie of the Year"

They are being very, very precise. And they are technically correct.

Obama's ad makes it sound like he's done massive changes. When looking at the record and things relating to "cleaning up" the government, he's got some things done, others not.

As for the Democratic ad that claim that Republicans were voting to get rid of Medicare was blatantly false. Obama and other officials correctly claimed that the Republican were radically and poorly changing Medicare. Republicans WERE trying to do a bait and switch.
