I don't need to touch a hot stove to know it is on.

I wouldn't go back there without:
1. Public wifi
2. With a spoofed MAC address
3. Running Ubuntu
4. With images disabled
5. Someone holding a gun to my head

However, I think 4Chan serves a valuable function in society. To keep those people occupied so that they don't bother everyone else.

How the hell can someone be an actual contender for President of the United States when Googling his name is a known joke that isn't even remotely obscure anymore?

Doesn't matter in the least now, the momentum gained or lost from the Iowa caucus is long spent. Besides, it was a statistical tie before and these new numbers have it a statistical tie now. The only thing, the *only* thing this shows is that the Iowa GOP wasn't prepared to handle the precision needed for close races, they're used to blowouts where the race can be called with only 15% of the precincts reporting in.

Now a tie did mean something different to these two candidates. Santorum spent everything he had to eek out that position, Romney didn't pay attention to the state until a couple of days before and shuffled right on past most of the other candidates. In this battle Santorum lost and Romney won.

So why didn't the Supreme Court step in and stop the recount?

I guess we answered the question "can the Iowa Caucuses be any more irrelevant than they were this year?"

Candidate != contender.

Yeah Santorum won Iowa. Too bad it's too late to care.

"Hey I actually won that - "

Nobody cares, Rick.

And if you think the incorrectly reported election night figures were "accidental," I've got a bridge you might be interested in buying. The liberal inside Republican establishment decided they needed to report a Romney victory, lest their boy Romney faced a real challenge for the nomination. Conservatives: the GOP elites are doing everything they can to deny you a conservative candidate.

This is what I'm talking about. The incorrectly reported Romney win has already generated all the momentum and buzz for Romney. Now it is probably too late for a real conservative to win the Republican nomination. That's even if anyone gave a sh*t now that Santorum was Iowa's true winner. And I 100% guarantee there were hasty phone calls made on election night in Iowa to make sure Iowa reported a Romney win--at least temporarily.

A Santorum win would have produced more buzz and momentum for Santorum than for Romney. If Romney wins by only a hair in South Carolina, it will be fairly attributable to the incorrectly reported election night figures.

As much as I like Chris Matthews, a lot actually, Chris can you SHUT YOUR PIEHOLE NOW about "Romney won Iowa AND New Hampster" and let the other 48 states vote????????????? Because Romney didn't "win" frickin' Iowa. He lost Iowa. Lost lost lost. Loooooooooooooooooooooozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzze. OK. Not that I'm anti-Romney or pro-Santorum. I am against calling someone a damned inevitable nominee when they only have 11 delegates to a convention of 2268 delegates. OK Chris? And other media types who get all horny just because someone came out 8 ahead I mean 69 behind? And please keep it in perspective. Romney only won 5 delegates and Santorum only won 5 delegates in Iowa, not a whole goddamned convention and nomination.

/rant off.

You did win, Santorum. You won 5 frickin' delegates to the convention. It's not weiner take all, Santorum, it's 5 goddamned delegates you won. Just because you "won" Iowa, you have 48 more states to compete in, Mr. Frothy. Including Pennsylvania which denied your reelection by 18%.

All of this GOP chickenfarking is pretty silly, but I was particularly galled by this little bit: When Romney lead by 8 votes, it was declared a "Win", with Santorum in 2nd. Yesterday and today as this story is being reported with Santorum up by as much as 69 votes, the GOP is spinning it as a "split decision" or "indeterminate".

If there was any doubt that the primary was mostly for show and that the candidate had already been "selected", this did away with a good bunch of it.

Now that is some HOT man-on-caucus action.
