Put up with zip ties so as to not damage the tree. I get the joke but clearly some park users missed the point. Too bad admin threw the worker who put up the sign under the bus.

Yea. One sign, attached by zip ties, is not the same as dozens of signs stapled or nailed in.

Islington Council said the poster in Highbury Fields, north London, had been put up "in error" by a junior worker troll.

God forbid that residents should communicate with each other in common areas. Why can't the jobsworths live in splendid isolation from normal people somewhere else, like the bottom of the sea?

The council has ordered a replacement sign, to read "this tree intentionally left blank."

"There was lots of grumpy huffiness and indignation about our taxes being used for this."

Oh yes, a printed paper, a protective sheet, and a couple zip ties. What a monstrous waste of resources. Think of what could have been accomplished with that 79p!

/eyes rolling so hard, I'm in danger of spraining them

I heard somewhere that it's better, down where it's wetter.

If attaching signs to trees is criminalized, only criminals will attach signs to trees.

The grassy medians in my city have a little sign on each one saying "POST NO SIGNS".

ZAZ: The council has ordered a replacement sign, to read "this tree intentionally left blank."

We do a lot of government specification documents at my work, and have to do the " his page intentionally left blank" thing a lot. One of my friends always insisted on writing "this page intentionally left blank except for this sentence."

"Yesterday we removed the sign to a nearby noticeboard as intended."

Removed? As in moved more than once?

"I walked up to it to rip it down, only to find it was telling people not to attach anything to trees!"

So this guy has been ripping down the signs of people trying to find their lost cats? What a dick...

/No shiat...would be nice to go to the park without seeing everyone's shiatty sign about their garage sale, or the orphan puppies and children they are trying to sell.
