John Kerry wasn't promising more tax cuts for the rich while increasing taxes on the poor. Surprising, I know.

1. Your blog sucks.

2. We don't begrudge wealth. We begrudge excessive wealth gained through gaming the system. We begrudge wealthy gained at the expense of working people. We begrudge wealth that is used not to better society but to increase the income and wealth gap. We begrudge wealth used to influence our political system. We begrudge those wealthy people that think that because they had all the breaks in life, because they were born into the right family, because they were lucky and happen to be at the right place at the right time, that they are more deserving, more entitled to the rewards of this society.

I don't recall John Kerry having rich corporations secretly funnel millions of dollars into shadowy 3rd party groups vaguely representing him

And they're not evil now. This is what I hate most about conservatives: their incessant begging of the question. It makes honest and meaningful dialog almost impossible.

Kerry wasn't a billionaire, his wife was. He doesn't control the money. That issue came up in the election when he was running short of money to finance his campaign and had to take out a second mortgage on his house to stay in the race.

2012-01-19 12:08:59 PM
The reason Kerry didn't win is that there are no pictures of him and his wife
dressed as Lilly and Herman Munster on Halloween.

Mostly because they're probably stuck up snobs, especially Theresa.

There are many comparisons to be made between Kerry and Romney.

For one thing, Kerry fought in Vietnam and then protested the war. Romney got out of serving in Vietnam and protested for the war.

I don't hate the rich.

I am the rich.

The reason I don't hate me is I became rich through being smart and working my ass off, not by screwing the system, farking over everyone else, and working hand in glove with government to do all this.

I will tell you what I do hate submitter.

John Kerry didn't pay a lower tax rate than I do while saying he's taxed too much and I'm taxed too little.

Aarontology: John Kerry didn't pay a lower tax rate than I do while saying he's taxed too much and I'm taxed too little.

So when Kerry put his yacht out of state to avoid paying the higher taxes on it, he was acting the way you think he should.

Yes GOP, turn the focus to John Kerry. That will certainly help Romney beat Obama.

This is like the 20th time I've heard Kerry being referenced in the past 3 days.

Was there some kind of memo that went out that told everyone to suddenly bring up this irrelevant guy who lost against a complete moron?

I am so confused. Is the Republican platform now "Yeah, but Kerry!"??

Jesus Christ, the GOP's put the pedal to the metal on the "Romney != Kerry" talking points now that most of America's wised up to the fact the primary season was over before it began. I guess the establishment really, really doesn't want a protracted primary season to rein in the crazies.

Well that settles it. John Kerry will not be getting my vote for President.

MithrandirBooga: I am so confused. Is the Republican platform now "Yeah, but Kerry!"??

They have finally realized that Romney is going to be the nominee. So they are testing the waters with different strategies on how to deal with his image problem as an out-of-touch one-percenter. So yes, "What about Kerry?" is a potential talking point if it plays well with the red-state low-intelligence voters.

MithrandirBooga: I am so confused. Is the Republican platform now "Yeah, but Kerry!"??

Yes, we were discussing that last night in the Romney thread that got jacked by "b-b-but Kerry!". It's unavoidable, Romney is the GOP's Kerry and the GOP punditry is trying to head that off at the pass by distancing Romney from Kerry as much as they can before the primary season's well-and-truly over, especially if the GOP base happens to get it in their heads that "Romney:Kerry::Obama:Bush" and double-garbl-down on a Not-Romney.

Aside from not, at all, in anyway, saying anything even remotely approaching that, sure.

In other news, Republicans keep making noises that approximate a tune that goes like this: "we want to rape your children and squeeze whatever remains of your life savings into a large slop bucket from which we and our friends can feed, because Jesus/terrorists/taxes/Democrats/big government."

Blogger dude realizes that being an out-of-touch millionaire douchebag was actually one of the reasons that Kerry lost, right? We're fairly consistent in our disdain for unearned wealth.

On the other hand, most of us think people like Warren Buffet, who are rich because they damn well earned it and did it in an above-board fashion, are pretty cool.

Correlations, not causation.

I don't like many conservatives. Some conservatives are rich. Thus, I don't like some rich conservatives.

Unless you're saying you're a big fan of Warren Buffet? YOU'D BETTER YOU ARE OR IT'S CLASS WARFARE!!!!
