No, it was a mod blackout, they all got blackout drunk. Or as they call it, Wednesday.

I think a lot of us wrote to them, as well. I know I did. "I voted for you, thinking you have your constituents' best interests in mind, but will not in the future if you don't" probably says a lot to people who want to hold on to their jobs. It also helped that a LOT of people in bands (of all degrees of fame) spoke out about how this would harm artists.

Title: Law Enforcement Groups Support SOPA, PIPA

I am shocked that law enforcement groups would support such horrible legislation.

No, we had a drunken greenlight frenzy instead.

I could say something about this.

FTFA: And, this is ostensibly why law enforcement agencies support the measures. Tracking and investigating Internet piracy is a time-consuming and costly activity, and one that drains criminal justice resources that could be used to combat greater threats.

Yup, law enforcement is hard. Much easier to go after people growing a weed, which has the added benefit of allowing them to confiscate and auction off their property without even having to charge them with a crime. They might be stuck with having to buy last year's model of SWAT van if they actually had to investigate crimes that aren't drug related and don't have the benefit of also being a revenue source.
