Does Lewis Black get to manage the PAC?

another PPP survey found that he had the support of 5 percent of South Carolina's Republican voters.

5% of the Republicans still don't get it?

I choose to believe that at least some of those 5% get the joke and understand how farked their party is.

And I don't see Colbert taking the VP spot. He'd lose all the visibility and influence he now has.

The hell with that, I want Colbert for President.

I want him as Secretary of Defense. Can you imagine him making statements in front of the UN?

I'm so glad that Colbert will never make it to the actual race. I worry that unintentionally he could be like Nader in 2000 and hurt Obama's chances against Romney (are we kidding ourselves that it would be anybody but Romney). I don't know what kind of message that would send: a) Obama has lost favor with the youth b) people don't take politics seriously or c) the system is broken and people want to play video games and text on their smartphones and can't be bothered to care.

I'll take a little of column a, column b, and a dash of column c.

No need to worry. Just like in 2008, he's only running in one state, his home state.

I firmly appreciate his trolling of the GOP primaries though...

Here's my poster design for you to download if you live in an upcoming primary state:

Post 'em up around town before your GOP primary and watch the returns come in...should be fun.

Koalaesq: Screw that. Stewart/Colbert 2012.

Colbert is funnier (there, I said it people, okay?), but Stewart is more versed in politics and world events. Stewart reads and keeps on top of things and actually tries to know what the hell is going on. I also feel this stuff is very important to him. Stewart also listens to and tries not to demonize his rivals, which is something that the people in Washington need to learn if they ever hope to get anything done.

Overall, 36 percent of voters had a favorable view of Colbert, compared to 28 percent who had an unfavorable view and 36 percent who were unsure.

36%: LOLWTFBBQ what's the worst that could happen?
28%: A mix of 1) people who hate him and 2) sane people that know this is a joke
36%: "Hmm. I don't know. President Colbert might be a serious option here."

Actually all three options have a serious overlap of people that love him or hate him, sane and insane. This would make for an awesome Venn diagram.

Well done! Any way you can make one that looks good in greyscale? I can print a bunch out on the laser printer, but it isn't color. There's a straw poll in Bristol, Connecticut tomorrow that I want to troll.

By the way...if you guys want to help me come up with some other witty GOP Primary slogans for Colbert, I can make other versions of the poster. I just went with an obvious generic Republican-sounding slogan b/c I was in a hurry.
