what_now: indylaw: To be fair to the retarded hypocrite, it's also about the fact that it's bad when the Democrats accept donations from wealthy people, because only Republicans may do that.

but...they...aren't accepting donations from BoA. They are using a facility that did. Right now, I'm sitting in an office on "Concord St". This makes me neither a grape nor a minutman.

She expands upon the irrelevant factoid by saying that the Democrats are selling out by giving cushy box seats to wealthy individual donors.

I was going to make a joke about you being a retired supersonic airliner, but then I remembered that it had an 'e' on the end.

I don't know. I googled her and besides a few unflattering pics, she is pretty hot.

I guess there are a group of men out there that prefer their women to be a little more masculine or "boyish". This group of men might also just be a little more effeminate than their counterparts. Of coarse, I'm not saying who this group of men might be. That might hurt a lot of feelings on FARK.

*me reading article*

Who the fark is the nutball who wrote this piece of shiat??!?

www.nationalreview.com

Ohhh that explains it.

Let me summarize article:

I think Democrats hate rich people and all corporations.

But look they don't hate all rich people and corporations, therefore they are hypocrites!!!

organizmx: Serious question:

As republicans start to rally around Romney (maybe), what are the real differences between Obama the President and Romney the gov?

From Obama/Romneycare to raising taxes on the wealthy to being pro life and pro gay marriage, I can't figure out what separates the two.

They're fairly similar, the differences are:

(1) Obama has demonstrated a capacity for competently administering national-level executive office, which is theoretically similar to the Mass. governorship on a larger scale, except for the military. Having a demonstrated ability to handle military and foreign policy issues is a pretty big plus in a presidential candidate, and one of the reasons incumbents tend to win the POTUS seat.

(2) Appointments. New appointments, apart from some crossover mostly related to the retention of existing staff, tend to come from in-party. So an overall evaluation of the party as a whole needs to weigh an executive candidate somewhat, since statistically if, say, the entire GOP would shift to exclude everyone but frothingly incompetent fundie nutjobs, the law of averages says a GOP president will result in more goddamned idiots in important positions.

(3) Romney appears to have done some profiteering directly using his office, which isn't necessarily illegal but is pretty unethical. Obama made money form his office by writing books about himself, which people found interesting and thus bought and read.

Basically, sure, Romney's superficially similar on hot-button issues (i.e. "politics for stupid people") but there are underlying concerns that make them fairly distinct even if you don't take Romney's position-reversals on the campaign trail into account.

Wait a minute. Did I just read that there are Republicans who are offended when rich people donate money to a Presidential campaign?

And no doubt, Obama will use his stadium-size pulpit to "stand up" to the very same "fat cats" who'll be watching him while sipping Courvoisier in their DNC-appointed luxury seats.

Courvoisier? That's like $30, $40 a bottle. Clearly, we should be afraid of people who can afford a $30 bottle of cognac, those elitists.

I live on Wall Street, across from a Mexican restaurant and next to a crazy white trash lady with an insane son who I'm pretty sure stole my trash can.

If I'm an investment banker, it's news to me.

Yeah, I'd like to jizz on her face, too. I don't imagine it's good for any other use.

What factual points did she make in the article? Name one.

That the DNC is hosting their event at Bank of America stadium. Now you provide a rebuttal.

Sybarite: For once Malkin is correct. We should have publicly financed elections so politicians don't have to spend all their time and energy sucking up to the moneyed elite for donations. That was the point, right?

That would be the most logical conclusion one could draw from her complaints.... so I'm going to guess "no."

What's to rebutt? That the naming rights to stadiums shouldn't be used for sponsor promotion? That Obama should be so hard on Wall Street that he should avoid even the most weakly symbolic of associations?

Okay, I can agree with that. But then I'm something of a leftist. Why do you and Michelle want to make that argument?

And the RNC is hosting their event at Tampa Bay Times Forum. Obviously this means that the Tampa Bay Times owns the Republican Party.
