If they sold the parts that had anything to do with home lending they'd have a heck of a lot bigger profit.

They are selling those too as much as they can. They are selling the servicing rights of millions of loans. The only reason why they can't sell the loans outright is that nobody wants to buy them at the face value and they'd lose too much selling them at market price.

Going forward, repayment of my student loans simply does not fit my business model at this time.
