More like humping it.

He should be taking it out back, putting it in a sack and tossing that sack into a body of water.

What?

Who does with or what to the garbage?

Who keeps paying him to be involved in movies? I want the time I spent watching "Devil" on cable back. Has he ever done a decent film, other than "Unbreakable"?

I didn't think Devil was that bad. it wasn't nearly as insulting as The Happening or heavy-handed as The Village. I probably would've liked it a bit more had I not known Shyamalan was at all involved.

All he did was write the outline and some of the script.

No. Unbreakable was awesome, though

Why is this hack still allowed to make movies?

I don't get it.

Am I the only one who saw "The Happening?" I know Marky Mark saw it, and look how farked up he is now?

M. Night Charlatan? No thanks.

I liked The Village.

I cannot stand Jaden Smith. Cannot. Stand. That. Farking. Asshole. For that reason alone I'd never watch this movie. I hate that farking kid. I hate that girl even more. The hair one. Someone needs to shave off her hair in her sleep so she can't indulge in that nonsense anymore.

The trailer was enough of a deterrent.

Sarah Palin's Conscience: I liked The Village.

I liked the basic idea (village in some unknown place or time) but it ran out of steam really quick when it tried to explain every damn thing.
Show people the beginning and stop it before that guy shows the girl the big pile of sticks in the shed.

Is this like "Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings?"? Or did you not like The Sixth Sense?

I thought TSS was awesome. I liked Unbreakable, but it just couldn't live up to the expectations after TSS.

Then it all basically went to shiat after that.

Wings, the band the Beatles could've been

Until the gigantic gaping plot hole of aliens traveling millions of miles to a planet whos surface is 70% poison and poison falls from the skies. Thats like us trying to invade venus.

6th Sense, awesome (the first time). Unbreakable, awesome. Everything else... utter crap. I saw The Village in theaters. I cant remember ever being so pissed at a movie. Caught the happening on TV, figured it was worth watching at least to look at zooey for 2 hours. Nope. And then he had to go and ruin Avatar, which was an awesome show that is now forever tainted by that abortion of a movie.

Cyno01: Thats like us trying to invade venus.

Venus is number two on the list.

It's closer than Mars and actually if we could get some balloons goin' we might be able to live ABOVE the sulfuric acid and crushing atmosphere. Beggars can't be choosers and new metal-materials might let us build mining robots that can reach the surface and withstand its brutality.

Hell, we could just nuke it a bit and see what happens, too. I mean, no one would ever go for that, but enough simultaneous nuclear detonations might do... I dunno, something to all the poisonous gases. Make them radioactive, too, for example.

2012-01-19 04:55:26 AM
And radioactive Venusian gasses at 900 atm would be a lot more appealing in the face than a new M Knight Shamalan movie.

I know i know, i mean invade venus without terraforming it first. Or wearing space suits.

And its mars were supposed to nuke. To vaporize all the CO2 at the poles and jumpstart a greenhouse effect.

Not a bad plan, if you want to fail.

I'd rather we just build a ramp and get a radio flyer and a blond boy with a stuffed tiger to handle things.

Wings could have been such a good band if they would have just settled down sometimes. I guess I just got tired of them being... A band on the run.

I was one (of millions, apparently) who saw the trailer for 'Devil' in the theatre and joined in the laughter when Shyammy's name showed up on the screen. That story was repeated here on Fark by people from all over Canada and the USA. When your movies are so stupid that crowds of average movie-goers spontaneously laugh at your trailers as soon as they see your name (and you're not making comedies), it's time to leave the movie business.

Sixth Sense was a great movie, Unbreakable was OK. Why anyone defends the other movies, I have no clue. Severe mental defect or something, I guess.

6th Sense - 5 Stars
Unbreakable - 4 1/2 Stars
Sings - 3 Stars
The Village - 2 1/2 Stars
Lady in the Water - 0 Stars
The Happening - 0 Stars
The Last Airbender - 0 Stars
Devil - 2 Stars

Sooo he's improving?

What's kinda funny, everybody agrees his last 3-5 movies have sucked yet most people, including me, keep seeing them.

I'm going to guess that the protagonists are actually on an alien planet that was a failed experiment to mimic earth and in the end they find out they are dead and can be brought back to life as super heroes when they splatter themselves with water.

I had the of painful pleasure of meeting Mister Shyamalan in Hollywood sometime around 2002 or so....Signs was released and still in the theaters.....this was in west Hollywood at a coffee place called The Abbey. He was sitting there by himself eating a cream cheese bagel and sipping coffee. I walk up and introduce myself (I have worked in wardrobe design on several movies) and told him that I really liked Unbreakable. He looks up at me and casually pulls a 38 police special from his pocket and sets it down on the table in front of him. "How about Signs? What did you think of Signs?" "All smoke and mirrors," I replied. "Smoke and mirrors." At this point he picks up the 38, grins and says, "that is what I wanted you to say", and shoots me. I fall back onto floor and I can feel my warm blood pour out me, through my fingers, onto the floor. M. Night is standing over me, but my vision starts to fade and then suddenly a brillant bright light explodes and for a few seconds.....nothing.

I then woke up back home, in my bed.....what I thought was warm blood was urine - I had pissed myself. It was all just a dream. Just a horrible dream. My M. Night Shyamalan dream.

"Hopping on the bandwagon??"

I lost all respect for this hack halfway through Signs. If you have any decency as a half-way intelligent movie-goer or even a human being who knows how to breathe through his nose, you understand the level of this man's amazing suck. He is the Ed Wood of our times.

You think I think he sucks because I'm on a "bandwagon"? Really. Wow. You must be really fun to debate with about stuff like Bigfoot and UFOs and other science.

He screwed up by trying to compress a full season's length of material into 2 hours (from what was originally like 10 or 12 hours total run time). There is no way you can compress that much of a series into that short of a time and have it turn out good.
