Hey man, I'm cool with the "In God We Trust" license plates as long as the gays can represent.

I'm not cool the default "In God We Trust" license plates where you have to pay extra to not have it on there.

Looks like a bunch of multi-colored children fisting a guy... Pretty gay if you ask me...

Ill take one for Autism BUT NO PUZZLE PIECES ON IT!

I hate that Shait

I'm guessing having those plates on your car would get you rear-ended a lot

Yep.

Especially considering the fact the people who'll end up screaming the loudest about the $40 LGBT youth specialty plate are the same yahoos who love their Jeebus specialty plate the extra cost of which the state absorbs.

See, to me it looks like a bunch of rainbow-colored people fell into a hole, and their arms are all you can see before they disappear completely.

Which is not exactly the message they were going for, I imagine.

Also, the Jeebus plates aren't the default Indiana license plate for passenger vehicles. The legislature was really careful to defecate all around the establishment clause but not on it. Call me picky, but one of these plates is not like the others. (new window)

As someone who has lived in Indiana her whole life, I'm tempted to think that this is some kind of trick. How the fark does Indiana get a pro-GLBT plate before everyone else? Every farking hick and self-righteous douche in Indiana likes to put those "In god we trust" plates on their janky minivan....this plate should really piss them off. Which is why I'll be getting one...but I'm honestly slightly worried about harassment and/or vandalism. And I live in one of the very, very few "blue" counties in the state.

Definitely in the HOTY running.

I hate to say it, but if I had a car, I would not be driving it around Indiana with gay plates. Or 99% of the country, for that matter. Pride is one thing, but I can't afford to be getting my car (or my body) repaired all the time.

Understandable - I chose to put a gay pride flag on my car back in the 90s to take a stand. To say, "You're not going to intimidate me any more. I intend to fight back."

Think of it this way - if you were Jewish, would you think Jewish plates were a bad idea?

Well, as a fellow Indiana resident I'd be more worried about getting in a wreck with a Jeebus plate owner than your car being vandalized. I swear Jeebus plate owners are the dumbest, most obnoxious, god-awful drivers ever to get behind the wheel of a vehicle. I've gotten to a point where I can drive down a road, watch a car approach from behind, and predict whether they have a Jeebus plate with near-perfect accuracy based upon how abhorrent their vehicular conduct is.

Has anyone looked at the design.

I see funny trolling possibilites.

/Designers probably don't want to invite 'eat the children first' opportunites on a plate supporting gay youth.

1) Still not fond of the switcheroo they pulled. Wasn't "In God We Trust" supposed to be something else and at the last minute some group swapped it?
2) Also still not amused that they took away my county prefixes. How am I supposed to learn a kid?

wildstarr: Indiana? That would have been one of my last guesses for a state with a pro-gay license plate.

I am also surprised by this occurrence. Indiana is the state that directly intervened to prevent a young girl from being adopted by a same-sex couple who had already adopted the girl's biological brothers and instead expedited her adoption to an opposite-sex couple. Soon after, her adoptive and heterosexual father was convicted of molesting her.

A state that gives children to heterosexual child molesters to prevent adoption by well-adjusted homosexual couples is not a state that I would expect to allow any action to benefit homosexual youth.

Good point...I play the same game. It's usually a Mercedes SUV with some soccer mom on her phone (i.e. gospel of wealth type) or the total opposite...a piece of shiat minivan with some skank and her 12 kids. With a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. Who is probably on her way to the county jail to get her man out AGAIN.

Evidently I was mistaken in one respect: a single homosexual, not a same-sex couple, sought adoption of the girl who was later molested by the man who lobbied against homosexual adoption and who received support from elected officials

In my area, you really can't make any class distinctions on the Jeebus plates -- they're freakin' everywhere and just about every yahoo on the road has one. Though, I can say there's a distinct correlation between having a Jeebus plate and having teabagger bumper stickers.

Now, this being Fark, you all know why the homo community put the rainbow stickers all over their cars, right?

It's for identification. If you're a homo, and you're driving along, and see a rainbow sticker on the car in front of you, all you need to do is tap the bumper of the rainbow stickered car. When the driver of the car looks back at you, you then give one of those limp-wristed waves.

The driver of the rainbow stickered car then knows to pull off to the nearest alley, playground restroom, Goodwill changing room, etc. At that point, you two can commence with the intestinal power plunging.

/I, uhm, read this somewhere...yeah, that's it.

Apparently as far as Chicagoans (or at least the creators of this map) are concerned, New York controls the whole Mid-Atlantic...

I've lived in Indiana for three years now. The way I treat it is that Indiana has two 'handicapper' plates: the one with the wheelchair for the physically handicapped and the one with "In God We Trust" for the mentally handicapped. And I do the same thing about guessing the plates.

I have family in Chicago, Iowa, and Minnesota and went to college at Kent State, live in Upstate NY and I share most of the maps world view. Which just made me all the more disappointed in the map's inaccuracy.

Sadly, methinks vehicles with IL "Chicago Cubs" and "Chicago White Sox" license plates are gonna get vandalized WAY more than cars with these homo-riffic plates. If you're at Old Orchard Mall and have a Sox plate OR at Orland with a Cubs plate, your ride is gonna have a niiiiiiiiiice looooooooong keeeeeeeyyyyyscratch down yooooouuur siiiiiiiiiide.....
