What the hell is a cyclocross? Wikipedia's down. I just immediately imagined Gizmoduck for some reason.

Cyclo-cross (sometimes cyclocross, CX, CCX, cyclo-X or 'cross') is a form of bicycle racing. Races typically take place in the autumn and winter (the international or "World Cup" season is September-January), and consists of many laps of a short (2.5-3.5 km or 1.5-2 mile) course featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike whilst navigating the obstruction and remount.[1][2] Races for senior categories are generally between 30 minutes and an hour long, with the distance varying depending on the ground conditions. The sport is strongest in the traditional road cycling countries such as Belgium (and Flanders in particular), France and the Netherlands.

And local events typically involve gallons upon gallons of beer, mud, punk rock marching bands and beer. Possibly the greatest sport ever.

...and CX bikes are the best do-everything, all-around, commuter/workhorse/comfy/balanced speed and handling bikes around.

Built myself a Surly Crosscheck for college. God I miss that bike.

I am a former pro BMX'er who switched to Mountain bikes and Road Bikes when the world thought I was supposed to.

Women's Cyclocross is pure porn to me. Spandex covered boobies, Mud, Turns, Jumps, Big Calves...

I will be in my bunk if anyone is looking for me. It's Yeah Whatever's fault.

Heavy? Not mine. Under 25 pounds, I'm pretty sure. Shimano 105 stuff, can't remember what the cranks were (probably some cheap Ritchey stuff), Salsa 'cross shallow-drop bars, and a wheelset Speedgoat built me based on Salsa rims (I forget the name, some pun on hot peppers) and some kind of affordable sealed hubs. I think I built the whole bike for under a grand -- lots of clearance parts from Cambria, I'm sure.

That bike was bombproof. God I loved it. If I ever build another bike the Crosscheck is at the top of the list. Hell, unless I find a '99-'00 Gary Fisher X-Caliber frame in L -- that black-and-yellow-and-red color scheme, my favorite bike ever, it was stolen -- the Crosscheck probably IS the list.

No doubt, though I'll bet it gets as many posts as the useless soccer threads.

I pretty much knew Katy C won before even clicking on the link.
My buddy dated her for a while.
She has terrible taste in men.
