So, did she get her beads?

2012-01-18 04:45:34 PM
I sit in the middle as the independent on the panel

Really?

I guess if she meant "independent from thought" she might have something.

So who turned out to be Carlson's birth father?

That, right there, is freaking HILARIOUS!

I never thought I'd use the hero tag for Jerry Springer.

Jesus, they're like farking robots. Not the positronic brain type robots, I wouldn't insult Data by insinuating that.

I never thought I'd laugh so hard while watching Fox and Friends, but I did.

Can someone please explain to me what point Drew is making? He says he supports SOPA, despite historically being a friend of sites that are opposing it, then makes his site annoying to casual users, but hardcore users love it because they get to up their green count and it's something to do I guess. So he's actually gaining support with his core audience but driving away interest with casual users (me).

Is Drew just attention whoring? Is there some deep message I'm missing? I'm so confused.

Did you actually read the white page thing? It's pretty clear what his position is and it's not support.

Didn't Gretchen go to an Ivy League university? She's not stupid. She's just another morally bankrupt shrew. If I had any respect for her as a person I'd probably feel sorry for her.

The girl in the middle...not too bright. She called Newsweek a "fledgling" magazine. I don't think she knows what that word means.

FTFA Carlson wrapped up the panel by telling Springer more about the show. "By the way Jerry," Carlson said. "You obviously don't watch our show, because you do not understand that there's a reason, I'll speak for myself, I sit in the middle as the independent on the panel, and quite frankly, we present both sides of the story, and we leave it up to our viewers to decide where they fall."

The middle of what two sides? Right wing and even further right wing?

The scary thing is, not only do they have a large audience who believe that's true, but they might believe it as well!

It's to the point that I don't think you can work on Faux News and not have serious mental problems.

When Jerry Springer is the most intelligent man in the room, you know you're on Fox News.

Pretty much. But he's against it obviously, because he'd have to get a real job if it was passed. I'm not dissing him, I'd be scared too. He has a good thing going with Fark and this and other sites like it would be in big trouble if this thing got passed.

"The question for our panel today is: Is Obama ruining America more by trying to force us to turn against Jesus with his islamic atheism, or is he ruining America by trying to tax and regulate job-creators, thereby making more people dependent on the government so that he can turn us into a green socialist communist hellhole?"

Here is what I got out of that clip:

Jerry Springer - liberal
Blonde gal with lisp beside Jerry - I don't know ... my brain shiat itself from her speaking
Guy - seemed like a smart comment
Blonde gal narrator - delusional if she thinks Fox isn't biased

God that is just great. If only Jerry had taken 5 minutes to find that on the web before going on there he could have even further decimated Gretchen

Oddly enough, most of Jerry's guests probably LOVE Fox news.

Perhaps, but he is apparently more intelligent than the mouth breathing retards who watch/participate in his show, while the hosts on Fox News...not so much.

I was watching Fox one day when I was a captive audience, and they really did say "fair and balanced" about 4 times in 10 minutes.

to be fair, the news story was not too slanted. It's still pretty farked up.

Wish I hadn't taken a drink of iced tea while reading that, now Gretchen owes me a new keyboard. That was pure comedy gold!

Gretchen Carlson? The "independent moderator" from the center?

Seriously?

That even contradicts her own self-assessment as recently as probably several hours earlier where she was polishing her conservative credentials on Fox & Friends.

How much doublethink do you need to be able to work on that network?

I find it disgusting for another reason. They're certainly biased, but even the thought that every story must have "two sides" is offensive to me. You can report on hard facts and evidence without being biased AND without giving credence to the nuts.

It's like the "controversy" over evolution or global warming. One side has evidence and one does not. Stop pretending like the morons may have a valid claim.

what_now: When Jerry Springer is the most intelligent man in the room, you know you're on Fox News.

And we have a winner. I was like "Jerry Springer is the token liberal? REALLY?" Of course, Fox has Ted Nugent and Hank Williams Jr on for their side... so I guess it's par for the course. It's like a weird love/hate thing they've got going on. They bash the entertainment industry every chance they get, but they jump at any chance to put an entertainer on the air.

The problem with that last statement is that most of the time, 'the room' is the set of his show. I'm not saying he's not smart, but when did he become a serious political analyst?

theknuckler_33: when did he become a serious political analyst?

Well, he was mayor of a major US city. He's got at least most of the credibility that Rudy G. has when he talks politics. Cinci ain't NYC, but if you've got both an NFL and MLB team, you're at least running in a pretty small pack.

No, it's actually Carlson's mother. She's a hermaphrodite.

If you read through the white page you'll understand. If not, watch the video and he spells it out.
