It can be as grim as hell, but it's not without some great comedic moments.

And yes, I *love* Justified. Really dug the premiere last night.

Goddamn right it was. "Justified" is awesome.

Great episode last night, but I was offended when that one guy put Pappy Van Winkle bourbon into his cup of coffee.

Train_of_Thought: The ending was perfect last night. I was rapidly running through options during the countdown, will he pull another gun? Will he just try to punch him in the face? Will he distract him somehow? Knock over the table? What What?

And then just a simple, sweet little move and calmly picks up the gun and fires. Beautiful.

That's what I loved, the simplicity of it.

You knew Raylan was gonna do something crafty, but you just didn't know what.


Doogled: Justified really does a great job reloading after such explosive season finales. This premiere was much stronger than last season's, although the scenes from the season 2 premiere involving paperwork and interviews were refreshing and well done.

To see Raylan going after paper clips and staples was worth a few good chuckles.


The_Sponge: Great episode last night, but I was offended when that one guy put Pappy Van Winkle bourbon into his cup of coffee.

I'm not a drinking man, so I assume that would be a bad thing, then?

Anywho, can't wait for Mykelti "Bubba Blue" Williamson to show up as another antagonist.

Neal McDonough wasn't too bad as the Detroit gangster, either.


Trocadero: I just wish the carpet bagger killed Duffy, too. That jerk (or actually, his character) freaking RUINED Burn Notice. I was so pissed off w/ that character, I haven't seen a single episode since he became "the big bad guy" on Burn Notice. Awful.

For whatever it's worth, that actor didn't ruin Breaking Bad, so that's one for him.

I'm just glad to see Walton Goggins continuing to do some great character work.

stoli n coke: Good kickoff to the season, though I kind of was expecting the hitman to last longer than just one episode. Seemed like a formidable B-villain.

In all fairness, I don't think Raylan fatally shot him.

Perhaps we haven't seen the last of him?

Uncle Pooky: If I remember correctly, Boyd Crowder was never intended to be a recurring character (meaning, survive getting shot), but the producers realized the greatness they had and rewrote the plot.

That's correct, aye!

Along those same lines, the Jesse Pinkman character was never supposed to live past the first season of Breaking Bad, but... well, he lived past it.

In both cases, those were smart moves, as both characters/actors brought so much to their respective shows.


I'm guessing any thoughts of getting rid of "Ice Pick" Nix were altered in the same way, if they ever existed at all. The dude owned every scene he was in.

I'd love to see him return. He had an Anton Chigurh-ish vibe to him.


Ugly Baby Judges You: I just finished watching this episode, and I have to agree with the rest of y'all. Season 3 will be badass.

And they haven't even brought in the Mykelti Williamson character yet!

THAT'S when things are gonna get really badass, I would imagine!

Never seen this show, but heard an interview with the stars and some audio clips on Fresh Air. Sounded amazing.

That could possibly happen, depending on what the Big Bads are up to this time around.

Eh. I don't know if I'm that curious to expand my subscription with Netflix or to buy a set of DVDs. If it were available for streaming, commercials or not, I'd watch.

It's worth the money, but for those of you who think you should just get awesome stuff for free, you might want to try out your google-fu skills.

I'm already paying for Netflix streaming. My point was just that I didn't know if a single show was enough to warrant another $7.99 since Justified is only available through DVD.
