My senators' voicemail boxes were full and their web-email forms were non responsive. Either more than just nerds are interested in this, or the nerds are spamming our representatives via automation, or our representatives just turned everything off.

Actually the real point is highlighted a little by this kind of thing.. the internet would be a wasteland if this kind of shiat passed. The entirety of modern internet culture (and that is NOT just nerds, with facebook etc its farking everyone) would potentially be destroyed (well, up until the rest of the world snips the US out of the loop anyway).

Maybe telling your mom that stuff like them funny lolcats will be first up against the wall might make some minor blip on her awareness.

Unless you can dash off 5 figure checks to a PAC then they are just senators not your senators.

I'm hoping the Cute Overload blackout raised some awareness on the issue in a demographic that might not otherwise be keyed into it.

Hey everyone,
This video was my idea, and my friends and I run youtube.com/Laughpong, the channel that created it.

Gaspode is on the ball, that's exactly the concept. Make something that's fun, light, and entertaining - but also educates and drives to action. That way it appeals to everyone and gets shared outside the normal geek crowd.

If you have any questions just let me know - I'd be glad to answer them!
