But it says that Fark hearts SOPA. Drew supports it!

Apparenlty, they don't hate SOPA *that* much. Not even so much as a mention on their front page.

MS only has a problem with the wording of SOPA, not with the idea that you
should be able to pre-emptively close websites with no due process.
If everyone used IIS it wouldn't be an issue, though, since no sites would stay up
long enough to give out any meaningful amount of data.

It's all about context and who is doing it. Same idea as car bombs are not considered terrorism if it's targeted towards an Iranian scientist and cheating on your wife is OK as long as you ask God to forgive you if you get caught.

The term "brown eyeball" is just figurative. It doesn't really impart sight.

Not so fast. Microsoft opposes SOPA 'as currently drafted'. That doesn't sound like opposition, but more like they're hedging their bets.

Well,
this Fox News article
(new window) says:
The shutdown adds to a very vocal body of critics who are speaking out against the legislation. But the bill's many supporters -- including the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and
News Corp., the parent company of FoxNews.com
-- argue that those critics simply misunderstand the bill.

I don't think the filter ever did that... Some people (non-US people, and American Anglophiles, mostly) just naturally type "arse", since that's their local version of the word (while an "ass" is merely a donkey to them)... (And, let's not even get into the confusion over the word "fanny"!)

Didn't make it too far in the TFA. "The SOPA act" made me remember that I had to go to an ATM machine to withdraw some money to pay for the BMP panel I had done at the hospital this morning.

Do you not understand what it means to be home due to snow? Geez, it's like you don't expect those with kids to be outside watching them sled. Those of us without kids are also doing silly things outside, e.g. I was just bicycling in the snow.
