Indie art films in 3D consisting largely of digital characters?

I've also got this great idea for an indie fill that will only cost 300 million dollars.

Maybe he should make a film about the formation of the Republic of China, starring the Gungan race.

Young Indiana Jones Chronicles
Radioland Murders
He's got "Executive Producer" credits on a few things from the late '80s/early '90s, which may have involved him a lot or a little. It's a bit of a nebulous credit.

Indiana Jones 4 could be fun but Harrison Ford is getting pretty old. They should just leave it as a good trilogy instead.

I really appreciate the lo-fi take he did when he made Star Wars 4. It really did seem dated, though it could have used a few more of the original actors to make an appearance.
I'd say my biggest complaint was that the lightsword fighting was pretty boring. Well, that and explaining how that old dude got a lightsword in the first place.

I've enjoyed hating on Lucas as much as the next guy, but I'm spent. There is another transcript floating around where he talks about not making anymore Star Wars films because:
"Why would I make any more when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?"
I think this is mission accomplished at this point. He gets the message that he is a terrible filmmaker, and whether he comprehends it or not, it doesn't matter. He can go ruin his art house films and leave Star Wars alone. I can't tell if he is being petulant or just resigned. Same outcome either way.
Assuming he lives long enough I half expect him to fail with his small movies or get bored. At that point he'll either re-release Star Wars again with new, insipid tweaks, or he'll start making more movies again.

This
article about the Star Wars movies
(new window) summed it up nicely for me as to why George Lucas did what he did. The short of it is that the angry young man grew up and stopped being creative and daring. That's the first point.
Second point is found in all the Red Letter Media reviews. He sums it up with excellent justification and references. The linkage between Revenge of the Sith and Citizen Kane is rather scary when you finally see it. He also points out another frightening fact: When does a filmmaker become so powerful and egotistical that he forgets everything he ever learned in film school with regard to how films are made?
Third point: You can only bottle that lightning once, maybe twice. After that it's down to luck and a demand-based market to justify the boring tripe you toss out like chum to the sharks. We knew by Return of the Jedi that something was being lost, and the story arc of two excellent films was being wrapped up with midgets, a colossal space orgy of a dogfight and in the end a total biatchslap where Hayden Christiansen takes the place of the original "Old Anakin".
Fourth and final point: George Lucas, like the honey badger, don't care. He don't give a shiat because he's wiping his nose with wads of cash and walking along his California enclave admiring all that he built. I give him the nod for ILM and paving the way for Pixar, but beyond that he's a pusher serving a very specific, nerdy, often expensive drug. It sells well, and he still profits. Don't hate the player, hate the game, as the kids say these days.

There was an article about Marcia Lucas, her role in keeping Star Wars on the right path, and the difficulty he had rebuilding his empire after the divorce that basically makes me think he had a Scarlett O'Hara "As God as my witness, I'll never have less than a billion dollars again!" moment.

That is actually what I was thinking while I posted. There is no way this movie will have the nearly unlimited pool of fandorks to rape over and over by continually rereleasing the same garbage with minor tweaks to it, but nothing I could come up with was nearly as clean as that post.

If that line was in a 40s era propaganda flick, it may not have been as cringe worthy.
