Send some of that snow here to Fargo too. It's going to be 20 below tonight and I'm sick of looking at this frozen wasteland. The least we can do is cover the dead foliage with some reasonably pretty snow.
/getting a kick, etc.

I'd like to echo this sentiment for Western New York. Snowless winter sucks ass, seeing how ugly everything is without the white stuff on top means I'll never complain about snow again.

I live in Everett and not too much going on. Any east coast transplant will tell you the snow is different in this area. The east is dry while it is wet here. Many times it covers an icy road making driving difficult.

Maybe it's about to turn into winter. The NWS says that so far, this winter has been the driest and warmest in US history. It's really hurting a lot of businesses, such as skiing, snowmobiling, etc. in the East, Midwest and even Colorado. But somehow I think that everyone else is kind of happy about it.

wasn't there just a snowmageddon a couple days ago in seattle?
I think the folks there should really think about buying a set of tire chains for when their hills get covered in ice.
I live in a pretty snowy place and I love to make fun of seattle in winter when it snows, mostly because screw them and their warm winters, BUT I wouldn't want to drive around in there after it snows.
It's very hilly and the roads would be ice covered pretty quickly, it could be a pain in the butt to get around, especially if your tires aren't cut out for it.

Yeah, so far my place in the mountains has only seen a couple of dustings. This is an improvement over last year when foot-deep snows and near zero temps were becoming tiresome. I mean it's the mountains, but in
Southern
Appalachia and they just don't have the snow removal equipment that northern communities have. Sanding and salting the main roads and bridges is the best one can hope for. Everyone else is on his own. And forget getting over the higher mountains unless it's a US highway or interstate. Seattle is probably about the same, since they get more rain than show.

We're up here in Ballard, snowing at a decent clip (if you were in NH you'd call this a light snow.) I just got up with my sweetie, made her some tea and breakfast, then went outside to clean the car off and get it warmed up. She has to work @ the QFC on Rainier Ave. S. today. We live in Loyal Heights, to give you an idea of how far she has to drive to go to work today. The buses are running regularly but no snowplow yet, so the roads are all white and dusty, not too much ice that we could see.
I'm going to make some coffee and have a day old from Larsen's. Have a great day everybody!

How bad is Bremerton getting hammered? A project I helped design is still under construction. I feel a need to gloat about predicting the Puget Sound getting hammered this winter.

Maybe an inch and a half of powder and still falling in the lowlands of Wallingford. We always get spared relative to the rest of the city. Frankly I hope that's all we get. Snow is a pain in the butt and bad for commerce. They say we'll get several more inches today but I'll believe it when I see it.

I made it into work about 30 minutes ago. I live in Mountlake Terrace and commute to Mukilteo. I think we're farther north than the worst of it. There was only a couple inches of new snow at my house this morning. The roads weren't too bad on my way in, either. There was was some snow, but the main roads were pretty clear and there wasn't much in the way of ice. I didn't see a single accident or spun out car on my way in. I thought about just working from home today, but since my wife and kids are stuck in the house all day, I figured coming into the office would be much more relaxing.

It's nearing six inches and it doesn't seem to end.
How exciting, I'm about to go to the store.
I'm not driving.
Last time it snowed near a foot I got stuck in the snow for quite a while.
My car is too low and not built for snow.
