I do not particularly care for Obama because of the simple fact he swept into office on the whole "hope and change" thing and really haven't seen too much of that in the three years since he took office. yeah i know you can blame a bunch of stuff on Bush and then you can blame stuff in Bush 2.0's term on Clinton, etc. etc. and so forth. But even though I do not agree with the current POTUS' views on most things, the republican field just appears to be one big pile of steaming shiat. Can't really expect less from old mr. ass juice though, in fact I would say the rest of the ticket probably is thinking the same thing but won't say it because they will see the fallout mr. santorum is going to get. In fact, the scary part is if by some alternate reality freak of nature, Bachmann won the nomination and got to the white house, her whole philosophy on obeying your husband would be in the forefront of any decisions she made if she were to get elected.

This is a good read regarding Obama's strategy: Link (new window)

I know that a lot of people are impatient with him, but I agree with the author that he's doing it the right way. Ideas will always take root if you plane the seeds, keep watering them, and wait.

Gyrfalcon: Bachmann's campaign failed because she's crazier than a sh*thouse rat.

As are most of the republican candidates.

But, the sad thing is that Newt "JESUS IS LORD REAGENT OF THE UNITED STATES" Gingrich is still less of a nutcake than Ron Paul.

In his defense, Bachmann has herself said that she'd follow all her husband's commands if elected because it's God's Will.

It's over, man. Romney'll be the nominee. Bring on the next nine thousand years of campaigning until Election Day 2012. I'll be taking up a self-destructive drug habit to dull the pain.

2012-01-18 12:59:09 AM
The real question is, whose campaign was he really working for this whole time? It's a pretty good tactic. Get someone hired on your opponent's staff to say something stupid right when it will do this most damage, and let the media storm do its thing. With South Carolina coming up, I'd wager Johnson is really a Romney supporter.

then maybe he should cut out the middleman, and just run himself?

honestly, there are two very important things that sadly anybody is allowed to do: raise children and go into politics.

and while evidence of an ethical and moral center would be super-duper, I would settle for an IQ test.

I would like to know how these farkheads know the mind of God, should he exist, and how they have the right to speak for Him.

I really want to know.

If I was God, I'd be mighty pissed.

I'm honestly kinda annoyed no one has really pressed her harder on that. Mainly curious on if she'd have a weirder or better response then "Jesus rules!"

It's God's Will that she run and then obey her husband's orders. God works in Mysterious Ways.

And also she's batsh*t insane, did I mention that?

Common sense prohibits that for Marcus. America will elect a female president long before we elect a gay one.

Kinda weakens that existance case, eh? But, then a lot of your professed middlepersons take a great fall for the usual human vices.
You would think that an all powerful, omniscient being could pick a little better quality frontpersons, would you not?

Personal opinion, if they say they are from The Lord, they are the Work of The Devil.

No middlepersons for me, TYVM.

"We did believe that sexism - I use the stronger word misogyny - was at play," said Peter Waldron, her faith outreach coordinator.

Aren't the very people she and her faith outreach coordinater were reaching out to mysogynistic by nature? Was she hoping to win by attracting non-sexist evangelical Christians?

My GOD, how easy American women have it when they think some politician saying "birth control is not okay" is farking oppression. I'm sure the Muslim women who had their clits forcibly removed without their consent today are really sympathetic.

They are both examples of men trying to control womens' sexuality. Santorum stated that sex should be procreation only. The ebil Mooslins you're referring to are trying to eliminate something that gives women sexual pleasure. Both groups have the same goal. To make sure women don't enjoy sex.

Santorum is a very good Sharia muslim, whether he realizes it or not.

Yeah, there's no difference between a windbag expressing his opinion and physically mutilating someone. Christ. Calling something a politician says "oppression" just makes a mockery of real, actual oppression.

You like fighting scarecrows? I never said he wasn't anti-woman. I said he wasn't OPPRESSING women. There's a pretty major difference there. And no, his expressing any opinion at all, no matter what it is, does not constitute oppression.

True. He may want to oppress. But he's never going to be elected, because people understand what he wants.

/even though, if elected, he still wouldn't be able to get his ideas passed.

Michelle Bachmann is nuttier than a fruitcake but it's pretty pathetic that what sunk her campaign wasn't her nuttiness, it was the fact that she's a woman. Her brand of crazy is no less viable than senator Frothy Mixture's version of crazy, but because he's a man the base embraced him and rejected her.
