Scott Walker did his job. He started the anti-union/anti-worker ball rolling and because of him, hundreds of Democrats across the country will win elections. God Bless you, George Soros and Friends.

I'm a pessimist, anymore. I want to see this play out in just that way. Until then, I will withhold any optimism.

It's hard to take any joy in the shaming of a sociopath when they themselves are incapable of feeling any shame, guilt or remorse. He's the kind of guy who sits there throwing lit matches into a box of kittens, and when he's called on it, he just shrugs and says "What?!?"

It's gonna be interesting when the governor starts trying to eliminate people's signatures just because they have funny names. Remember, Dick Trickle is from this state. Not to mention Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop.

Meanwhile, Gingrich and Perry couldn't even manage to secure 10,000 signatures to get on the VA primary ballot.

It's pretty refreshing... for most of my adult life, the Republicans were the ones who sucked at governing, but were really good at getting elected. Nice to see that they're starting to suck at the whole election thing too now.

I'm satisfied with effectively neutering them. They don't have to feel bad, they just have to be unable to inflict more harm.

What the old line from Stalin: "It doesn't matter who votes, but who counts the votes."

Something like that.

You know what. I blame farking Democratic party for sucking so bad in mid-terms.

Seriously. Between fair weather progressives and stupid people who have no understanding of politics, didn't vote and emboldened the people who work AGAINST the societies best interests.

Yeah, but the point of punishing people like that isn't to punish them. It's to tell all the other little idiots out there that hey, there's only so far we're willing to be pushed. Don't make me get up off my recliner.

I'm happy to see Wisconsin is going forward on this. I was really worried that the "instant gratification" generation would forget about it.

F*ck Scott Walker.
It's one thing to be conservative, but trying to ban gay people from being able to visit their partners in hospitals is a whole other level of asshole. That's just mean. You've got to be seriously f*cked in the head to support that.

2012-01-17 05:17:05 PM
Haha, double the required signature total, and the state DNC was reportedly policing signatures they believed to be fake.

now on to the recall election.
would suck if you failed to recall him ....
:D

let us know how much money you need us to send.

A couple of numbers regarding this.

In sixty days this group was able to get as many people to sign a piece of paper saying that they did not want Scott Walker to be Governor of Wisconsin as voted for Scott Walker in the 2010 election (1,128,941).

Governor Walker is toast... in more ways than one.

2012-01-17 05:45:23 PM
elections apparently do indeed have consequences.

not that the GOP cares. they'll look you right in the eye and still say they've got a mandate.

madness.

From reading Nate Silver, I get the general idea that even in the sloppiest petitions, a maximum amount of 20% of the signatures are thrown out. Often it is far less than that. So basically, it's impossible for the GOP to stop the recall. Governor Walker WILL be recalled.

unless of course the WI Republicans decide to just throw out all the signatures, ingore the petition and then get their pet judge on WI supreme court to make it all nice and legal.

at this point I really wouldn't be surprised to see Walker simply sieze power and tell the voters to f*ck off. I get the feeling he really does not care about democracy. it's merely a formality to him, with strange ritutals that he doesn't understand.

There will be a recall election but Walker losing to ? around April 3 and during that time Walker can and is taking advantage of a state law that allows recall targets to raise unlimited amounts of money during a recall period. Walker has already started running ads.No dem is even starting to glad hand. Having a recall then losing as happened with the last Wisconsin recall will be fun to watch. Walker is a schmuck but voter will probably go with the schmuck they know than anyone out of Milwaukee and Chicago's northern suburb is not enough to carry a state-wide office.

Weaver95: decide to just throw out all the signatures, ingore the petition

Which there is no legal basis for. They'd have to openly declare a dictatorship.

2012-01-17 06:17:43 PM
I really don't understand shiat like this. I mean, I get that it's a legal recourse and more power to them, I hope they get rid of this slushy shiatbag, but did the man not do what he was elected to do? Did most of these republican dickbags and tea party asswipes not do what they said they would?

It's all a bunch of sour grapes from a bunch of morons with buyer's remorse who couldn't be bothered to stop and think about what they were doing for even five measly seconds before they arbitrarily decided to vote against Obama or decided to just stay home because they were so overcome with ennui.

I hate the teabaggers and the Koch suchers as much as anybody with a functioning brain, but I'm not going to pretend these assholes aren't doing exactly what they said they would and that they only won because a bunch of dumbasses decided they couldn't be bothered to get up and go vote against them. These people were legitimately elected based on the laziness and ignorance of the populace, NOW everybody wants to get all pissed off at them?

I guess my point is that even if they manage to recall this sack of crap I'm not going to get too excited. The same lazy dolts who let him in to begin with will just do it again with some other sociopath in a few years when they're just too disenfranchised to go exercise a little common sense on one lousy Tuesday.

2012-01-17 06:18:03 PM
Good gravyboat... That's almost 20% of the state population. That's awesome. Man, he REALLY made his constituents hate him, huh?

again - Walker wouldn't see any problem with this. Oh he'd come up with some sort of vague legal fiction for his actions but I think he'd only vaguely understand why it'd even be necessary.

He's probably more of a pathological narcissist than a true sociopath. Narcissists can feel remorse sometimes, but they can definitely feel intense shame. Avoidance of shame is really what drives their narcissism.

To be fair, Scott Walker did keeps his promise to bust unions on the down-low when he was campaigning.

My latest paranoid nightmare fantasy is related to that.

First, from last Thursday's news: "State elections officials plan to enter the names of all those who sign recall petitions into a new database - a policy that will add to taxpayer costs and delay until summer when any recall elections would be held. ..." (new window).

Step two, after all the data entry's complete, the database file - hopefully secured, hopefully not an .mdb - somehow gets loose. Overzealous/careless staffer. Or "citizen volunteers" are allowed to play with it. Or maybe they put Kathy Nickolaus on the job. Several possible ways it could escape.

Step three, we see the random forum & facebook postings from people who brag about using this now-public information as a blacklist. Hiring, housing, anything.

From my link, "Kennedy declined to name the site where recall petitions will be reviewed while security plans are being worked out, but he said it would become public Tuesday", so they are giving some thought to security. I hope the whole process is managed wisely and fairly.

From what I understand, no. They campaigned as centrists, and then implemented this radical right, union busting agenda that they barely talked about during the campaign. They perpetrated a fraud on the Wisconsin people, and that's why there's so much energy to get rid of them.

Neither Walker's recall nor Obama's re-election are in the bag.
