Boy, there's an obscure X-Files reference.

RexTalionis: Boy, there's an obscure X-Files reference.

"War of the Coprophages" is one of the few X-Files episodes I had trouble finishing. Cockroaches creep me out big time.

Cockroaches are very clean creatures.

True, but they still creep me out.

Most cockroaches have been known to actually wash themselves after being touched by humans.

Steampunk, this is.

Wow.

You go, subby. Did not think I'd see that name referenced anytime soon.

So is this the Sarif Series 1 Energy Converter?

Great. Now they don't have to drag "C" cells around behind them.

RexTalionis: Boy, there's an obscure X-Files reference.

I thought the head could refer to Dr. Berenbaum, a well known real entomologist, but her first name is May and she is not nicknamed Bambi. But the wiki article says the X-files character "Bambi" was named after "May" so I guess I'm sorta right.

// years ago I knew May.

2012-01-17 05:43:48 PM
This is no place for an entomologist.

That is EASILY one of the best one-off episodes of the show. The guy who wrote it did a number of The X Files best episodes.

It was a girly scream, wasn't it, Mulder?

Electric Cockroaches would be a great name for a band

I had the biggest boner for Bobbie Phillips for so long, metaphorically speaking, of course, otherwise I would have called my physician.

Too bad she didn't make more movies. Such a delicious body.

And this sort of reference is why I love Fark.

Yeah.

However, whenever I watch "Creepshow", I don't watch the last segment, "They're Creeping Up On You".

kronicfeld: Her name is Bambi?

Yeah. Both her parents were naturalists. Her theory is that UFOs are actually nocturnal insect swarms passing through electrical air fields.

that's correct Wendy, we ALL wear masks, metaphorically speaking

brantgoose: Great. Now they don't have to drag "C" cells around behind them.

I imagine an 8-roach team harnessed to a yoke pulling around the battery in a wagon and performing useful fetch tasks, like, say, bringing you a bagel with cream cheese, would be a pretty feasible application of that technology.

I, for one, welcome our new cyborg cockroach overlords.

Not sure about this claim, but the salt and oil in human skin damages chitin. Humans are actually really salty ... just ask subby's mom. (ba da bum).

Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired: That is EASILY one of the best one-off episodes of the show. The guy who wrote it did a number of The X Files best episodes.

Oddly enough, the writer who wrote this episode has stated previously that it's one of his least favorites, or even least favorite over all. Which yeah, is odd only because it appears to be a fan favorite. I'm not even a huge x-files nerd and I knew what it was...

The alien teen that sucked brains out, the luckiest man every, the African guy that folded himself into corners, the twins that murdered their parents, the guy that could see the future, the comic book frankenstein comedy.

I miss the X-Files.

Darin Morgan wrote the best X-Files episodes.

War of the Coprophages
Jose Chung's "From Outer Space"
Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose
Humbug

He also did some of the best episodes of "Millenium" including a sequel to Jose Chung. He also played "Flukie" in "The Host" and he also appeared in "Small Potatoes" written by Vince Gilligan

Vince Gilligan did the next best episodes, including some done in homage to Darin Morgan.

Sort of an incestuous writer's circle.

/not referring to the Peacocks
//really miss the XF
///which ended in the eight season god damnit!

rooftop235: Steampunk, this is.

No, not particularly.
The case could easily be made for cyberpunk, however.
