That's it. I declare an end to this nonsense. I am getting fed up, sick, tired, and depressed by all these constant mashups, reimaginings, what-ifs, alternate whatevers, and similar stuff. There is more to creativity than taking two random pop culture things and shoving them together. Have I ever wondered what it would look like if the Firefly cast were Transformer versions of Thundercat stormtroopers? No. No I have not. Go out and come up with NEW IDEAS and quit endlessly rehashing the same tiresomely incestuous tiny meme pool of decades-old creative themes.

I have spoken.

Yes. Totally served. Because a Disney movie VERY loosely based on Hamlet (even saying that is a stretch) suddenly makes the original play pop culture. Not that your average uneducated person could name more than 2 characters in the play, describe what's going on, or even identify a random quote or scene.

If Joe Schmo can't describe the basics of it without looking up sources, it's not pop culture. Hamlet is not pop culture.

Hamlet, King Halmet, Laertes, Claudius, Gertrude, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, Polonius, Ophelia, Horatio (Not the one from CSI: Miami.)

Khellendros: If Joe Schmo can't describe the basics of it without looking up sources

King Hamlet tasks Hamlet with avenging (Unless it was revenging.) his murder by Claudius. Hamlet does so by pretending to be one sandwich short of a picnic. Love, death, murder abound. Everyone, except Laertes, dies.
