Why do they keep bringing these guys on? They bring nothing to the table but awkwardness. It's bad enough listening to James Brown try to riff and jive while Shannon and Cowher mushmouth their way through segments.
If I can say anything good about the CBS show is that at least it isn't the Fox clusterfark or the abortion ESPN sharts out every week.
/I actually like the NFL Network's show

Jeez, I can't imagine why some people seem to be sick of Tim Tebow. The only explanation could be because he is a Christian.

One redeeming feature of Fox NFL coverage is Mike Pereira, who should be promoted from "guy we go to during instant replays" to "replaces Joe Buck entirely, including being allowed to screw Mrs. Buck if he so desires, on the air if need be".

The article states that CBS is only trying to get Mr. Tebow. If he has any sense, he'll be out transforming water into Gatorade and making seven buffalo wings satisfy a stadium of hungry fans, so he won't have the time.

Which explains perfectly why we have ten threads a week about how much we hate ultra-devoted Christians like Troy Polamalu, or the other 98% of the NFL that is Christian.

I'm genuinely curious if Tebow can put a cork in his self-aggrandizing prosthelytizing long enough to pull off something like this. How much rope does CBS give him? My guess, it doesn't happen cause Tebow will try to use the show as a pulpit and CBS knows it.

The comments on that page are indicative of why we have to deal with this. There are a lot of people that are only watching pro ball because of Tebow.

I rather doubt it. He brings it up when people keep asking him about it or asking him things like "to what do you attribute your popularity and success". If the conversation is along the lines of "so, have the 49ers proved naysayers wrong after taking down the Saints?" "You know, speaking of Saints, I wanted to thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for dying for our sins and inventing yoga pants and for granting me the strength to sit through this broadcast. Also, yes."

They should just fire everybody else and dedicate the entire program to Tebow witnessing to America and giving a virgin's perspective on family planning, interspersed with multiple shots of Tebow Tebowing from all different camera angles. It's what America wants. And the Lord.

I'm just happy that Tebow's attention whoring has caused people - well, okay, Farkers - to discover Matthew 6, which outs all Christian attention whores as pretty piss-poor Christians.
Hell, they aren't Christians anyway. They're Paulists.

You guys just hate it that finally a white-Christian male is making it in this country. Every Christian should look up to Tim Tebow. Remember, there were those who made fun of Jesus before crucified him.

I prefer the previous version. The "under God" bit is less than 60 years old, added on by post-WWII Christians terrified that we might become Communists without it.
Someday, when we grow up again, we'll get rid of the "under God" part. It'd be nice to be what we were as a country before the military-industrial-religious complex took over.

It's not just Tebow. Realize CBS is doing this precisely to exploit Tebow's name recognition - CBS couldn't give a rat's rectum that Tebow is a mediocre QB. CBS just knows that controversy sells, and they want to be a retailer.

They did have Suh on last week as an analyst so this isn't anything different for them.

Indeed. I usually avoid Fox's pregame shows like the plague, but had to watch the previous one. Pam Oliver still has blackmail information on a Fox exec, I'm sure. And Ndamakong Suh was godawful awkward

First off, it has been pointed out to me (through a friend's post on Facebook) that Tebow is the football version of Sarah Palin. And I'm having a hard time discrediting it. Will he talk about religion anytime he's talked to on the show? Probably not. Should a 2nd year player with horrible football acumen be dissecting plays for CBS? No. (Same answer I would have given if asked about Suh last week, FWIW.) Will FOTF and all the other personality cults that follow him around and annoy us mercilessly find a way to make us annoyed as fark at his expense? Almost definitely. His cult is what people should hate, and I've accepted that now.
Secondly, since we're talking about CBS's studio show, this is now obligatory:

They are not really there to dissect plays, but be part of the spectacle that is the NFL playoffs. They pretty much give stock answers to simple questions. I would rather have some guys in there that speak clearly (as your picture pretty well illustrates). And Suh did a good job at this, as I think Tebow would do.
