You mean the Red Army that marched into Germany wearing US boots and eating US food that was shipped to the front by US built trucks, locomotives, railcars, and aircraft? That Red Army? The one that would have effectively stalled out not far past it's own borders if it had to rely upon purely native produced transport? That one?

The fact remains that 2 out of 3 Nazis killed in WWII were killed by Ruskies. Deal with it.

How about comparing Russian casualties to US casualties.
The Russkies basically used Zap Brannigan's

and the fact remains without the men my grandfather was yanked out of a prosperous retirement to train as merchant seamen, and the reckless courage of those men in the face of horrific casulties on the "Murmansk Run" the Russians would have surrendered to Hitler sometime during 42-43'.

What, you mean pointlessly stupid European wars like WWI, and especially WWII? Had Britain and France listened to the US in 1919, it's likely that Hitler would have never come to power, WWII would have never started, and the Holocaust wouldn't have happened. But no, you had to bleed an already depleted Germany *DRY*, didn't you?

All right; that's it. Having just returned from 1907 Vienna where I secured the expulsion of Hitler from the Academy by means of an elaborate prank involving the Prefect, a goat, and a substantial quantity of olive oil, I now turn my attention to our newer brethren, who, despite rules to the contrary, seem to have no intention of reading Bulletin 1147 (nor its Addendum, Alternate Means of Subverting the Hitlerian Destiny, and here I'm looking at you, SneakyPete). Permit me to sum it up and save you the trouble: no Hitler means no Third Reich, no World War II, no rocketry programs, no electronics, no computers, no time travel. Get the picture?
At 02:29:49, SilverFox316 wrote:
PS to SneakyPete: your Hitler paintings aren't worth anything, schmuck, since you probably brought them directly here from 1907, which means the paint's still fresh. Freaking n00b.

Amen, SilverFox316. Although, point of order, issues relating to early 1900s Vienna should really go in that forum, not here. This has been a recurring problem on this forum.

SilverFox316, you seem to know a lot about the rules; what are your thoughts on traveling to, say, Braunau, Austria, in 1875 and killing Alois Hitler before he has a chance to father Adolf? Mind you, I'm asking out of curiosity alone, since I already went and did it.
At 18:42:55, SilverFox316 wrote:
Jason440953, see Bylaw 7, which states that all IATT rulings regarding historical persons apply to ancestors as well. I post this for the benefit of others, as I already made this clear to young Jason in person as I was dragging him back from 1875 by his hair. Got that? No ancestors. (Though if anyone were to go back to, say, Moline, Illinois, in, say, 2080 or so, and intercede to prevent Jason440953's conception, I could be persuaded to look the other way.)

Uh, I think this thread is over so I'll just point out that I tend to feel if command knows things aren't working and continues to do the same thing over and over again, it's not really the enemy that are killing the friendly troops.
We shoot troops for desertion (or at least we used to) but I can't think of any officer who was shot for killing his troops by refusing to change his tactics or strategy when the results were the slaughter of his men. The commander previous to Doolittle in Europe comes to mind. He was eventually relieved of his command because he kept ordering bombing raids that resulted in 20% losses.
I can think of a semi-recent terror attack when US command knew a truck bomb or similar attack was probably coming and refused to change ROE. The bombing was successful and we withdrew from the area shortly afterwards. If I have the facts wrong, my apologies.

The 3d thing is kinda old news, but it's cool reading all the intricate strategues throughout the war. The Germans also painted bomb craters on their runways so allied bombers would think they were already hit. 3d photos as well as comparing photos taken at different times (shadow analysis) helped counter that. Ww2had some super cool strats and counterstrats.
