Yeah, yeah. Whatever.

How does it affect roll up the rim?

2012-01-17 09:26:30 AM
`Yes, I would like an extra-extra-extra large double-double.'

`One 'merikun-sized DD coming up, sir.'

2012-01-17 09:45:04 AM
The new extra large is basically a bucket of coffee.

But now I can't make fun of American Timmie's for having overly large sizes ... :(

2012-01-17 09:52:23 AM
Eh... I still haven't forgiving Tim Horton's for putting all the Bess Eaton's out of business in my area. (Bought them all up, turned them into Horton's and most of them are closed now too).

2012-01-17 09:53:38 AM
Blech. Tim's Coffee is Heartburn in a cup. There sandwiches suck too.

/chicken salad used to be good
//Baker's Dozen coffee FTW

Perfect timing.

My current addiction levels are no longer fed by an extra large.

Sirjohnfalstaff: The new extra large is basically a bucket of coffee.

I know. It's awesome.

2012-01-17 09:57:53 AM
Sorry to disappoint but I hear roll up the rim has been discontinued...

2012-01-17 09:59:15 AM
Those 24oz new extra larges were supposed to be available starting yesterday, but the Tim Hortons I go to still doesn't have them.

WTF?

2012-01-17 10:06:39 AM
They started testing this in Kingston, ON last year. People cried for two or three days then got addicted to the larger size.

jfsimpson: They started testing this in Kingston, ON last year. People cried for two or three days then got addicted to the larger size.

I don't understand why people would get mad. They still have the other sizes available. Except the small in some cases, but who the f*ck gets the small? That's like a thimble of coffee. It's useless.

2012-01-17 10:11:17 AM
Over the past 25 years, supersized portions have contributed to rising obesity levels in North America.

Because coffee is so fattening.

2012-01-17 10:11:52 AM
wait, 24 oz is extra large?

That's no where near enough coffee

2012-01-17 10:12:17 AM
I still remember when they made their donuts fresh in store.

2012-01-17 10:15:18 AM
What do the lords of the underworld have to say about this?

2012-01-17 10:15:38 AM
And so continues the Amerikunization of Canada

2012-01-17 10:19:47 AM
When will Tim's stop putting its coffee in cups coated with paraffin that smells like month-old kerosene? If it's going to modernize something, it should be the discontinuance of selling coffee in the cheapest, uninsulated dixie cups it can find.

More sizes mean more freedom. Are you against freedom?

2012-01-17 10:30:10 AM
I agree with this name change. I've always felt their 'medium' was 'small' and their 'small' was 'extra-small'.

I'm also glad they didn't pick completely retarded, unfamiliar names for sizes (e.g. tall, vente, spinabifida, whatever)

If you drink it black you should be fine. But I prefer my coffee like I like my women. Diabetic and full of crystal.

I was thinking that too, but then I remebered they sell hot chocolate in the same sizes, and Timmies HC is liquid sugar, with extra sugar on the bottom for good measure. I don't want to think about how many calories that is.

Rev K, my wife hates coffee, loves hot chocolate, and almost always gets a small since she can't drink much more than that.

God Is My Co-Pirate: I still remember when they made their donuts fresh in store.

mmm me too!! I live in the states now and I miss me a chocolate ice cap realllllll bad.
dunkin donuts is garbage in comparison, their chocolate donuts taste awful.
coolata's have nothing on timmies ice cappachinos.
and the ham and swiss sandwich and brocolli cheese soup is wicked!! (that is if they still have it)

Seems like a stupid way to effectively introduce one larger size. Why not just leave as-is and introduce the "XXL?"

2012-01-17 12:35:23 PM
I've never been to a Tim Horton's and after years of seeing the logo during NHL games and hearing you people talk about it, going is now on my bucket list.

We're moving to se Michigan and the nearest one is in Lansing, about 2 hrs away. Is it worth the drive? I drink my coffee very strong and I do appreciate a good doughnut.

/if MSU makes the playoffs, might be a added incentive to go there

2012-01-17 12:37:14 PM
...AN added incentive. I claim caffiene deficiency.

Their lids aren't recyclable in my area, don't know about other places.

ytterbium: I drink my coffee very strong and I do appreciate a good doughnut.

Then... no.

Tim's coffee sucks if you like strong, black coffee. It's watered down.

It's best attribute is that it's accessible.

2012-01-17 02:03:24 PM
Well now we know what Canadian military secrets were that were leaked. Next we will have to figure out what American coffee houses may have stolen this idea before the Canadians could produce these new cups, that may now be obsolete.

Thanks for the warning. If I can see light through coffee, I'll pass.

If I happen to be around one, I will still try it just to say I have.

Now, if we can only get Timmies down here in Florida.

Not sure all the hate for Tim Horton's....only thing I can afford to eat when in Canada

I think Circle K (Couche-Tard), Coors (Molson), and Hee-Haw (Canadian company produced) would like a word with you about "Amerikunization"

I like Tim's coffee, canadian living in the US right along the border. I'm used to the US sizes for everything. Several times when visiting my parents across the border I've stopped at the tim's for a coffee and was like WTF when my medium was the size of a US small. Glad they are finally matching the US sizes.

"I'll have a whatever with 1/2 a cream please"

I like it.

/They should have just called it "Super" and left the rest of the sizes alone
//Although hearing someone order a "Super double-double" would likely make me snicker

I had never heard of Bess Eaton's until your post, so I looked it up on Wikipedia

"In its last decade of operation the Bess Eaton Donut Flour Company faced many internal difficulties including problems with its financial records. As a result, the firm sold its retail division in mid-2004 following bankruptcy litigation. . . . Within two months of acquisition, Wendy's had converted 42 of those stores to their Tim Hortons brand. "

Please do NOT sully the name of the late great Tim Horton.

I do. Sometimes that's all I feel like.
