Police seized the marijuana and arrested two Vietnamese teenagers aged 16 and 18 at the house

Nice to see kids learning a trade.

Nice job coppers, stopping all those unprocessed, natural plants from reaching free citizens.

Village crime: Compost and remains of cannabis plants are stacked in the vast triple car garage beside a Persian rug

From the look of the thread count, I'd say that rug is Turkish.

They didn't find the pod people yet?

Hint: the weed was just a diversion.

What is this world coming to when a man can't have 12 pot plants?

Phew. Moar dangerous criminals off the streets.

No longer will these degenerates rob our mothers and rape our daughters.

Discover 300 but only seize 200? Must have been a massive run on donuts that night.

How can this be cost-effective? You are competing against places where they can stomp seeds into mud and come back 3 months later and harvest.

The only positive to growing is that you know it isn't spiked, and doesn't have residual pesticides on it.

Pretty funny how the writer just couldn't get over the fact that these filthy junkies could be operating out of such a fancy house. "They were sleeping next to the CREAM colored drapes!!!! Cannabis 'remains' next to a persian rug!!! pipes in the beautiful hallway and tubes next to a chandelier!!!"

It's better to do this than to support violent criminal organizations who kill villagers and government officials at the drop of a hat in whatever third world shiathole they happen to be stomping seeds into the mud in.

There is a major price difference between "Ditch Weed" and what can be grown in a controlled environment like that.

Looking at that operation- not impressed. They have a lot of investment, but the production techniques, lights and setup are pretty crude actually. I mean potting mix? Really? Also, if you're not using LEDs you're a moron- especially if you're trying to do it under the radar.

Assuming drug laws in the UK are anything like in the US, I'm more amazed these kids were stupid enough to risk such a nice property for this when they could have found some rundown old crack den somewhere and risked that getting confiscated by the Man instead of this nice pimp house than anything else. That, and them not being more stealth when setting it up (running pipes and ducts under walls etc.).

Why do I only see HPS in busts? Seems like growers have it down to a science, so why haven't the majority switched to LED's?

LEDs are unproven, and in some instances people still get a little better production with HPS lamps. . . However, that's changing really rapidly and as LEDs get cheaper you'll see more in busts. Lots of these guys however, don't really know what they're doing, or have just a rudimentary knowledge, so they start with what's been done and documented in an attempt to guarantee success on the first try. . .

Cost, maybe? Ease of purchase (our local hydro stores don't have LEDs in stock)? Laziness? Who the heck knows...

It's pretty stupid too, just from the energy consumption and heat output aspects. . .with LEDs you can often eliminate all of that ductwork, reduce the energy costs to within normal parameters for a residence and save a lot of money. The best ones now you can switch between light frequencies for vegetative or reproductive growth. . . saving more money. . . I really don't get why anyone is using HPS unless they're exceptionally ignorant of what else is out there.

Domestic pot plants keeps money out of cartel hands. The weed will still be smoked, it's just going to fund a much worse situation.

This, 1000x over. The DEA funded obnoxious anti-drug commercials saying that every time you bought weed, you supported terrorism. Well, that wouldn't be a problem if it were legal to grow your own, now, would it? Conclusion: the DEA supports terrorism.

DEA doesn't have the power to legalize. They do, however, have the ability to stop raiding domestic operations.

But why bother, if the war on drugs has taught us anything over its 40-years, it's that we can indeed win.

/MW3+LSD = War, on drugs
