Dr. Keith Ablow is a psychiatrist and member of the Fox News Medical A-Team. He was a member of a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The Fox News Medical A-Team

Twenty-eight percent of young people between the ages of 18 and 24 binge-drink five times a month

That can't be right. Everyone knows you can't drink until you're 21!

figures? The government always lies, yet he's pushing an anti-market agenda. Fox has hired a secret lib!

I'd have to say there are a lot of reasons to get hammered these days. Democrats say Republicans, Republicans say Democrats, Husbands say wives (okay wifes, whatever unless you're a polygamist), vice versa, it's the economy stupid, force fields, cheaper alcohol, falling space junk, MADD, a change in defining binge drinking, better cab service, who really knows.

Ahh, I love it.
"eight mixed drinks within a few hours"
Or
"putting away seven drinks in one sitting"
What is one sitting? A few hours? Jesus, in the summertime I drink margaritas at cookouts that last ALL DAY. Holy Shiat, I must be an out of control drunkard who can't hold a job!! Fark this guy.

If one thing is clear from
TFA,
it is that REAL AMERICANS are the only ones with the problem:
My theory is that Americans are on a flight from reality. Faced with painful facts-including the precarious state of the economy, the gathering storm represented by militant Muslims, in general, and Iran, in particular, the crumbling state of marriage in this country, the fact that our borders are being overrun, and the fact that our health care insurance system is in shambles.
Fox News fans, you know, the church-y types seem to have a lot of reasons to drink.

Highlighted the answer for you. Moving the goalposts makes the problem seem worse than it ever was, and then of course, something needs to be done about it. There is a new prohibition movement afoot, it's just taking a slightly different tact (though back before Prohibition I, the 'being a nation of drunks' was part of the argument)

Also I want to point out again that Fox News's websites are run by a progressive, slutty (not a slur in my book) homosexual named Ian Jopson, whom is an immigrant from Australia *not a citazen*. You can follow him on Facebook as long as you dont question where he works... But I feel this is something the Freepers and conservatives should be aware of. (That you can't escape gays or progressives no matter how hard you try).

Modern Americans GOT NOTHING on the drinking done by our Colonial ancestors. Those guys knew how to drink.
"Colonial Americans, at least many of them, believed alcohol could cure the sick, strengthen the weak, enliven the aged, and generally make the world a better place. They tippled, toasted, sipped, slurped, quaffed, and guzzled from dawn to dark.
Many started the day with a pick-me-up and ended it with a put-me-down. Between those liquid milestones, they also might enjoy a midmorning whistle wetter, a luncheon libation, an afternoon accompaniment, and a supper snort. If circumstances allowed, they could ease the day with several rounds at a tavern."

He's a moron.
We don't even make the top 50.
In terms of alcohol consumption by country or region, we're 57th in the world. We're not even close.
News of the magnitude of this intoxication-resulting in frequently and dramatically altered states of consciousness for tens of millions of Americans-is no different than if we were to learn that a quarter of our young people were snorting half-a-gram of cocaine more than once-a-week or injecting heroin on that schedule.
Again, he's a
moron
. This is the same guy that's terrified that, if you paint your toddler's toenails pink, he'll become a homosexual. This guy has been pandering to right-wing religious conservatives for years, and will continue to do so - this article is no different.
