Someone left a BMW, someone took a BMW. Someone else left a BMW, someone else took a BMW.

and left the 3-series luxury car running as she popped into the store, police said.

How DARE you suggest the victim shares any of the culpability!

Oh wait, we're not in a rape thread. Never mind. Biatch was asking for it.

What's really funny is the f*ckin' bank job in Secaucus. I'm in the middle of the f*ckin' weeds, layin' down. He says, "what are you doing?" I say, "I'm resting." "here you're restin'? Your on the f*ckin' beach in a box." I know I'm restin'. I'm restin'!

A 3-series is the car you lease your mistress via a shell company.

Maybe the owner traded the '85 in for a newer model and needed the car back.

I wonder if the first BMW was also stolen because it was left running. Then at the next gas station TWO BMWs will show up and someone will jump out and steal a third BMW that was left running.

This can have far-reaching consequences. There will soon be a giant pack of BMWs that roam the streets looking for other running BMWs and steal them, like some sort of zombie-car apocolypse.

Someone should make a movie about this.
Call it "28 miles later" or something.

I grew up a few miles from there. That corridor of RT 3 has always been notorious for opportunity thefts. There is a mall, a best buy, and a home depot so therefore large parking lot full of clueless people. Add to that mix that within a few minutes you could be on RT 3, RT 95, RT 17, the Lincoln Tunnel, RT 1 & 9, RT 120 and all the back roads of Jersey City makes it ideal for get aways.

My brother worked for security for what used to be Tops Appliance City which was right near this incident. At least once a day a guy would grab something, run for the door, and out to a waiting car. The crooks would be miles away before the call to police could even be made. They even used to put large appliances that couldn't be carried by the door so thieves would have to run around it and be slowed.

i dunno. they're small cars, but they're comfortable as hell, and most have leather, heated seats, (real) wood trim, navigation, etc. for many people, that would indicate luxury. plus the fit and finish is way beyond most other cars.

the 3-series is like the macbook air of cars. small, more expensive than the competition, but amazingly well made.

I live here now. Well Montclair to be honest, but worked for years with a rt 3 commute. She couldn't have picked a worse place to leave her car running if she had left it on the sidewalk in front of a Newark project. Or Paterson.

/Not sure if they know how to steal cars in Camden, or if murder is all they do.

"Secaucus is a derivation of the Algonquian words for "black" (seke or sukit) and "snake" (achgook), or "place of snakes.[13] The town's name is pronounced "SEE-kaw-kus" (/ˈsiːkɔːkəs/), with the accent on the first syllable, not the second as often used by non-natives.[14][15]"

I travel extensively for work and rent a car about twice a week, I have driven about every sub 50K price tag make and model car out there.

I don't know if you can call a 3-- Bimmer a luxury car, has a lower end interior than its competition, but you can say it's better built, but a bulletproof engine and corners like some much more expensive sports cars.

Depending on the package, it can be biatchin fast. M3 is about the best small sports car out there. 400+ hp in a car slightly larger than a neon, 0-60 in 3.9 Yikes!

I don't think anyone could argue that a 3-whatever is an economy car. Base MSRP $38500 ha-ha.

scut207: lower end interior than its competition

when looking for a new car, i drove the new audi A4 and the mercedes C-class, and i thought the bimmer had a waaaay better interior than either (m-sport edition, anyway). much nicer seats, simpler controls, better fit and finish, and a much beefier steering wheel. the audi was second, and the mercedes was a distant third, i felt.

to each his own, anyway.

Out of the cars I've owned, my Audi A4 had the best interior. My current car, a 2004 M3, has a decent interior, but not nearly all the bells and whistles the Audi had. The Mercedes C230S I drove for a bit was a pile, both inside and out. It was like a Mercedes for people who couldn't afford a Mercedes (me). Don't get me wrong, I love my M3, but I miss my Audi the most.

She didn't need to leave the car running. The car has a "rest" mode that keeps it warm for 20 minutes when the ignition is off, iirc.

I believe the M-sport interior is a metric f-ton more polished than the standard 3--, someone back me up here? I've never been in a M3 /sadface

My 2000 A6 had a better interior than my 07 3--

So a 3-series is basic transportation?

Perhaps you misunderstood my ha-ha: The plebs are still buying used hondas for $10k. A $40k (base) car sounds like a luxury to me - even if it isn't the most expensive thing BMW makes.

To tilt one's nose and claim a $40k (or $50k) car is not "luxury" is, well, amusing.

Luxury is a class of car.

You can call $50,000 pick up truck a luxury, but that doesn't make it a luxury car.

It's very polished for what it is. It's more of a sports car so there are hardly any cup holders or a decent stereo. But the seats and trim are definitely on the higher end.

But there I am, doing just that! The cost does not make it a luxury car. Especially with a BMW.

I've always wanted to move a car on someone who leaves it running in the parking lot. either that or take the keys out and throw them away from the car. Or just lock them in the car while its running. I think that would be the most funny. all you'd have to do is open the door, push a button and walk away.

In the late 90s, I had an '87 Olds Cierra that wouldn't start hot. So I would have to keep it running outside of the convenience store. I only paid $1 for it and it had an engine tick that sounded like it would blow at any moment so no big whoop. No one ever stole it.

Now a 2011 BMW left running. Yeah, that's dumb.
