dumbass. And the guy who jumped off the mountain too

Walked away with just broken legs.

Don't understand the hate for stuff like this - I for one am glad someone does this. Just because.

4 tries, still never saw it.

Yeah. I have to agree. It takes some serious stones to do what these guys do, and the videos are always pretty amazing. It looks like it would be a hell of a lot of fun, and if you could just get rid of the whole probability of slamming into the ground at high rates of speed, I'd love to do something like this.

It's got to be a hell of a thrill, don't you think?

Cuchulane: 4 tries, still never saw it.

You tried harder than I did.

I guess this was greenlit because it was recent, but there are some crazy, insane batwing vids on the internets out there.

I'd love to do it, but I don't want to die that way. One mistake, or a gust of wind
and you're farked.

On the slow mo replay you can see the guy in the black batman suit hit the rocks, flip end over end, stop gliding and drop like a stone.

Of all the jumps I've seen (on video), that one seemed the safest!

I was going to post the video of the wingsuit dude hitting the bridge trying to pass under it but i felt nervous searching for it at work..

What? No Skyrim people are going to come in and point out that it should be "in the knee" instead of "to the knee"? Well... I guess I just did, but that only partially counts. I'm a bit surprised that there were none before me.

Useless video is useless.

If I have to look this hard to see the action, I'm out.

I saw pixels, and some of them moved. I think.

So much for naming the camera guy in the blue suit when his contribution turned out to be "there he is" and not "this is how you crash into a mountain".

No you weren't because you watched this video from your 'work' and with minimal effort you would have found the related video of Jeb and his friend Dwain Weston on that farked up day when Dwain pushed it and failed. I am so very happy that Jeb is only injured and not gone. I get the snark, I get the judgmental nature of fark, I understand that people like Jeb seem to irk people because of what is perceived as insanity. I understand that most of you people who criticize and mock cannot fathom why anyone would put themselves in a situation like that and those that do deserve ridicule when they fail. I understand that those of you that fall into that category are fools. Jeb and his brothers and sisters who take to the sky are not. So, to the people who hate and mock for that sake alone. fark you.

Vodka Zombie: you could just get rid of the whole probability of slamming into the ground at high rates of speed, I'd love to do something like this

The whole probability of slamming into the ground at high rates of speed is a major part of the reason people do things like that. Take away the danger factor and you take away a lot of the fun

Maybe 'Pilot' is too strong of a word for what wingsuit users are?
How about:
- wingsuit participant
- wingsuit faller
- wingsuit glider
- wingsuit victim

FTFA:

"today on January 16th famous wing suit pilot Jeb Corliss crashes into table mountain."

Since when a piece of cloth became an aircraft???

Inquiring minds want to know...

Also, the moaning in pain at the end of the video... it just ties the whole video together in a nice package of FAIL and hurt...

Congrats, Jeb!

I'd love to see these "thrillseekers" waive the free medical care.

2012-01-17 08:11:43 AM
All by himself he managed to endanger the lives of a helicopter crew who might have been rescuing someone who had an accident not of their own choosing. I know he didn't choose to crash, but it's hard to feel sympathy when someone doing something inherently dangerous by choice experiences the obvious consequences of that choice. The thing is, it endangers other people too. If he did this by himself somewhere with some buddy taping it and they had their own rescue team, then kudos, but imagine if that copter went down or missed going to a fire and airlifting someone because they were off rescuing someone who decided to tempt fate?

The free medical care people assume everyone less deserving than themselves is always getting.

Ummm ... have you ever read fark comments? Pretty sure that if there's ever a dictionary term for "fark" it's going to have something to do with inappropriate mocking.

That being said, I love watching jumpers and their videos, and it's a tragedy that he died. Also a tragedy that your sense of humor's chute didn't open.

I got nothin'.

I think this stuff is bat-shiat crazy as well as people who sky dive.

On the other hand it's annoying to read that these people are somehow more 'manly' with 'bigger stones' than we who refuse to act in such dangerous manner.

No, we understand exactly why, which is why it is met with mockery and derision.

The dude behind him was video taping, right? Where's that video? Why am I watching a cell phone video from the top of a mountain? I guess he'll probably release it when he can get TruTV to pay for it. Those helicopter rides don't pay for themselves.
