I'd be more impressed if he didn't call his wife a biatch in his songs. Either it's just a word and you treat it as such, or you find it offensive to women and treat it as such, but this double standard is lame.

This couple is emblematic of what passes for American royalty these days: negligible talent so grossly overproduced, overmarketed and overexposed that people assume their ubiquitousness imports relevance.

His use of the word contributed (but not exclusively or entirely but still contributed) to his being in the position to even meet Beyonce, which led to Blue Ivy.......

Why didn't he stop saying it when he married Beyonce?

Back in the 80s, Whitney Houston was on top of the music business. The public persona put forward by her handlers was classy and lady-like. So many young girls looked up to her as a role model full of talent and grace. Then she married Bobby Brown, the "bad boy", and we soon learned that Whitney was nothing at all like we believed. She was a foul-mouthed drug abuser with a ghetto attitude.
I was puzzled when Beyonce married Jay-Z. The guy is a thug, and he's made no effort to hide it. Sure, he has a lot of money, but she has her own money. And if money was what she sought, I'm sure she could have found a man with just as much as Jay-Z. I wonder what we'll see once Beyonce's veil is eventually lifted.

Seriously? fark YOU JAY-Z!!
You're nothing more than another hypocritical douchebag. So NOW that you have something to lose and someone to care for you want people to behave appropriately? Why do you think people were blasting rap music before? But back then it was "cool" and "edgy", now you became another middle aged conservative man.

I'm not familiar with his work, but from what I hear-he's one of the few rappers who actually does come from the "Streets" And his work is to be considered the most innovative and artistically great. He wasn't like Spike Lee who actually grew up very upper middle class and went to private school. Nor like a lot of rappers who brag about being "Gangstas" but who grew up rather normally.

Pretty much what I came here to say. So it's OK to refer to other people's daughters as b*tches until you have a little b*tch of your own?
Hey, Jay-Z? Your daughter, Blue Oyster Cult or whatever her stupid name is, is a b*tch. *And* a ho. Nyah!

I never thought of Jay-Z as a thug(maybe because I am black and live in a big city) I see him as more of the artisy type of rapper.

Came here to say this, leaving happily. Jay-Z just grew up. Good for him. Pity it took him, what, 42 farking years? "Gee, I got rich calling them 'biatches', but now that I have a daughter, I don't want no man calling her a 'biatch'."
Too late for that, Jay-Z. You, and a lot of folks like you, worked your asses off to program a significant segment of this generation that, hey, they're all biatches and hos - you don't get to back away from that and run off just because you're afraid that some little punk is going to roll up to your house on her Sweet 16 and call your precious farking snowflake a 'biatch'.
It's not like she's not going to hear your classic hits, there, chucklehead. Or end up hanging out with folks interested in her solely because she's Jay-Z's daughter.
Sheesh.

If your status ain't hoooooooood
I ain't checkin' for him
Betta be street if he lookin' at me
I need a soulja
That ain't scared to stand up for me

Gotta know to get dough
And he betta be street
She don't need a soulja. She do need to sit her weave wearing, nose job having ass down. Biatch is fake. biatch ain't hood, with her Gwyneth Paltrow worshipping ass. It's not wrong to not be hood. It's commendable to not be hood. But it's wrong to be fake about it, pretending to be hood, pretending to want a hood mystique just because someone told you that's what would sell, and then your Joe Jackson wannabe daddy allowed you to rubber stamp that shiat with a fake added on song-writing credit..
