While I love listening to Emma speak in interviews and other candid/quasi-candid venues, and think she is brilliant therein, I have found her nigh on unwatchable as an actress. For some reason I don't find her wit and presence to carry over into a role well. Perhaps that is a testament to her natural talents and intellect, but maybe it is a criticism of her acting ability. I am not sure which.

She's a good actress. But, for whatever reason, she always comes across as nervous or unsure of herself. She'd probably be great in a Woody Allen film, I guess.

I was going to rush to her defense, but I can see what people mean about her seeming nervous because she often plays roles that have a brittle quality to the character. Stranger Than Fiction, Remains of the Day, Peters Friends, Sense and Sensebility, all those characters have a very obvious vulnerability. But I did not find her so in Much Ado About Nothing.

Thank you, that's exactly what I was thinking of.

she is getting on a bit in the years but probably still would, and very much so when she was younger. Very attractive, classy, inteligent, witty and very nice voice. Ideal as a life partner, don't think one would ever get bored with her. And I do like a woman who looks good in short hair.
