Why would Wade leave the one place he belongs? Dallas D went from respectable to crap and Houston went from crap to outstanding in one season and the only thing in common to both was Wade leaving Dallas and arriving in Houston. I miss Wade Phillips defense. Coach Fatso Ryan has a bag of nothing.

I'm honestly surprised that Houston was the only team to try and pick him up after he got the boot. I bet there are several teams with bad Ds that are kicking themselves in the ass after seeing how much of a turn around he engineered. (I shudder to think what the Patriots would look like now if they had hired him.)

And all that said, Houston is ecstatic that they have another Phillips on their team's coaching staff. Houston knows how good they've got it, and they aren't going to throw away something like that.

Wade Phillips is part of the Mike Martz-Norv Turner-Dave Wannstedt-Dom Capers tier of really good coordinators that had no business being a head coach.

Tampa should try making a run at Greg Schiano.

That plus he's going to get promoted after Kubiak gets canned

And when exactly do you think that's going to happen? The Texans finally made the playoffs, and won a playoff game, all with a rookie QB after their big-money starter went down. Kubiak has bought himself at least two more seasons; if they make the playoffs again next year, five more.

I'm a Texans fan and I'm still not completely sold that Wade is hanging around. I know he withdrew his application, but it just really irked me the way after we won the division, Wade was in interviews saying he wanted to be a head coach again. Made me think all he was using us for was an audition tape for his next gig.

I really hope Ol' Bum talked some sense into him. His family is so loved here because of the Oilers. Hell, Bum walked the Texans out onto the field for our first playoff game. Being old Oiler fans, we were all a little choked up watching the team show that much respect to Bum. Cmon Wade, you have a better chance getting a ring here than starting over somewhere else. Even ESPN was giving the Texans much credit by saying if we had not lost Schaub, we would have gone higher. Hang around man.

Why would Schiano leave Rutgers for the pros? He's very well compensated at Rutgers, he knows what he started, and with the Big East in disarray he knows he's got a shot to do some big things in the next few years.

That franchise has 0 identity outside of sucking. They need to pick a style of play and hire a GM/HC from that school of thought. If the 1st round of guys suck, stick to the overall philosophy... Develop a sense of what it means to be a Buc (beyond a turd) and build on that. Stay stable. The most successful franchises out there thrive on stability, even despite coaching changes.

Problem is they have a lot of knuckleheads on that roster, similar to the Bengals the past few years, only these guys are unaccomplished and really young.

I know Wade wants to be a HC again, but his bigger success has been at DC, even though he's been slightly above average as a head coach. I think the way the season ended, coupled with the fact of having a full offseason for coaching and player personnel management, I think it was too enticing to stay one more year and go for a Super Bowl in Houston, the city where the Phillips family is given demigod status.

/Mario Williams will be GONE, mark that down.
