Washington Capitals d-bag Alexander Ovechkin in some random Russian rap video or something. No clue what this is

Hmm. They called him a d-bag. Where is this radio station. I bet you it's Pittsburgh.

Though, to be fair, he can be a bit of d-bag.

I couldn't really get into it.

It didn't have much of a ring to it.

I_Am_Weasel: Though, to be fair, he can be a bit of d-bag.

He's a d-bag in comparison the archetypal shy, Canadian farm boy type that the hockey "old world" most relates to. Compared to athletes in other professional sports, he's quite normal, and even still on the seemingly "nice and approachable" end, of the pomposity scale.

/see also Subban, PK.
//that is a horrendous vid, though.

What do Russians rap about, anyway? It's hard to sing flows about how much money you have when your currency ain't worth jack.

chixdiggit: What do Russians rap about, anyway?

I don't know, but given the rampant mafia and crime elements throughout East Europe and Russia, I'm sure there's plenty of source material to work with.

Came to post this exact thing.

On a side-note, I'm getting ready for the Bruins v. Panthers game tonight. This will be the GF's first live NHL game, so I got seats on the glass in the corner.

I can't wait for the first big hit in our corner or slapshot that bangs off the glass. She's gonna shiat herself.

Only problem with Subban is when you approach him for an autograph or to shake his hand, he tends to fall on the ground and curl up into a fetal position and then gets up smiling when you walk away... It's confusing for the youngsters.

Given the language barrier, he's extremely outgoing and a good ambassador of the sport (off the ice). And if you buy tickets or watch on TV, you can see him on the ice too, which is good.

Him rapping can't be any worse than his skills at leading teams in the playoffs.

So Brad Marchand running and hiding behind Chara after the hit on Salo was...?

As a Bruins' fan I don't think you should be calling anyone out for turtling.

Wow, please tell me that's supposed to be ironic or something.

Also for some reason that damn Ray Emery song keeps popping into my head now. Allow me to share the joy. Link (new window)

Hey now, we all know Salo is just a dirty headhunter, Marchand was just trying to avoid a big hit like the one he took 20 seconds before.

Money is money.

Well, money is money and chicks are chicks, and the music industry tends to have more of the latter than hockey does.

Lead rapper sounds vaguely like Rico Suave.
It's not that bad. The random english words are jarring.
Guess it all hinges on whether he sounds crisp
when rapping very very fast, or other Russians recognize
it as being mushmouth/mumblemouthed in cyrillic.

/world needs more international rap

she doesnt need to sing. just do some

Bruins looked a little sluggish last night against the Panthers... Made for a good game, none-the-less.

Caron and Hamill have done a good job in the absence of Marchand and Peverley, though.

It's going to be interesting to see how the Bruins do down the home stretch. Lots of games with a six back to back games, I think. Going to be a good test of their depth and endurance.

I think they only play one team in the next stretch of games who are out of the playoff picture at the moment.

Oatmeal's is pretty farking awesome, in all fairness... Especially steel cut.

I cook up a big pot of that every Sunday and it'll last me all week. Throw in some flax seed, berries and almonds and you've got yourself a top notch breakfast, in my opinion.

They were sloppy as hell last night. Lots of stupid mistakes and turnovers.

4 or 5 breakaways allowed, I think...

Not a good night for the boys, at all. But they get the two points, so can't complain too much.

Hopefully, they play a lot sharper tonight in Tampa Bay.

How did the girlfriend enjoy the game?

Name dropping yourself as "One of the ten best players of the last decade" has to be the worst line of stunting in rap history.

She loved it of course. Chara nailed some guy in the corner and she almost spilled her beer.

I checked the DVR when I got home, a couple nice shots of me double fisting beers during the game.

You can't beat live hockey... Especially if you've got seats on the glass. I kind of prefer the balcony seats as it allows you a better view of plays developing, but you don't feel the hits up there. I was at the Bruins/Leafs game where Lucic put Van Ryn through the glass. We were about three rows back to the left. My buddy from Dublin was over enjoying his first live NHL, too. He still talks about it.

As it should be...
