Honestly, they should do this a bit more often. With house show attendance down, they should at least attempt to create the illusion that house shows matter, and give people a reason to want to attend.

A title change at a house show every year or so wouldn't hurt.

SharkTrager: Man, I remember when they'd regularly show highlights from house shows on the Saturday morning broadcast because things happened sometimes that mattered.

I also remember times there were continuity issues because the champ as far as TV was concerned was not the champ if you followed what happened at house shows, but without the Internet most people never knew about it.

The regional organizations would take the same damn match around the horn in the old territory days. Somebody loses a Loser Leaves Town match? He's losing that same match in every major town on the circuit before heading off to the next territory. Title changes? The champ is crowned anew in each town before it's official.

...don't know how they would have worked a haircut match, though.
