I've had a dead man switch account for more than a decade, with various levels for periods with no connectivity.

I've even upgraded so I can "check in" via text message now instead of having to log into my account weekly.

/45 days after my death, my relatives will know what I really think about their moron asses.
/20 days after, my root pw'ds are sent to those I trust so that I don't have to worry about someone finding my dirty laundry, so to speak.
/10 days emails are send to people who agree to be on the list, and they can override the sequence if I am just in the hospital or jail or something and I can not contact the server.

I personally would rather let people know what I think of them while I'm alive. But if you get some perverse thrill out of thinking, "I can't wait until I'm dead so so-and-so will really know what an asshole I think they are" then good for you, I guess.

My plans for my own demise are quite simple, I don't have plans. I don't give a rat's ass what happens after I die. If somebody finds my 'dirty laundry' as Shadow Blasko puts it it would probably be my wife, and she already knows about every single skeleton in my closet anyway.

This is an interesting idea but I would hope you would tell the people in your life how important (or not as the case my be) they are to you before you kick the bucket.

The people I would want to say something snarky to in death, I just don't talk to. I would rather die with whatever they have on their chests left unresolved.

As far as a dead man's switch, I have thought about giving out a limited group secondary administrator / root account credentials... which have login scripts to delete all the pr0n.

I'm going to be dead and none of it will matter anymore. How passive-aggressive does one have to be to insult supposedly grieving relatives? As if they'll care what you really thought of them anyway?

Also, have fun with my computer. It's not like I'm Enoch Root over here. And I'll be dead.

Since I'll be dead I won't care, but I would have it post something like "Hey guys, most of you know by now but for those who don't I'm dead. This account will be deleted soon, so grab whatever pictures you don't have but want from my page while it's still active. It was a fun ride. I would say 'It sucks to be me' but I'm dead, so it's neither good nor bad for me. I simply no longer exist. It sucks to be grieving, though, and I would really want you to find solace where you can. Think fondly of our good times, angrily of when I was a prick (which was more often than you're now willing to openly admit given the circumstances, I wager), and know that while I was alive you all meant something to me."

I'm plenty passive-aggressive in life, so no need to call anyone out about how I feel about them. I'd rather go out with something resembling dignity since I have had so very little in life.

I can't even get Facebook to stop 'suggesting' friends that have died. If I started getting messages from them, I'd be pretty skeeved out.
