I mean, I can understand doing it in a bar setting. You are drunk, people start swapping stories, trying to top each other, then someone claims they killed someone and it gets quiet.

In the past 3 years, I've read stories on Fark about a neighbor taunting a 8 year old with cancer, someone having sex with a dead dog in front of a daycare, people posting robbery loot on FB, and other really, really stupid shiat.

What I think happens is that the person thinks "Everyone I know is my friend, and if I post this, everyone will agree it is a good thing!"
