Learning Jeet kune do from a flipbook? *snerk* That's so mainstream.

I'm a master of "Fann el Nazaha Wal Tahtib", an ancient Egyptian stick fighting combat art.

You've probably never heard of it.

I practice a variant which utilizes a pitchfork instead of a stick.

Seen a Hipster last night walk into a wing house with 6 pack of PBR and an Ipad- lets just say he wanted to extend his football party, however the bouncers took his beer and kicked him out.

I remember those flip-books from when I was a kid. As I recall they didn't last all that long due to being pretty flimsy.

TFA biatches about the font choices, but I gotta say the pink and blue colors next to red and green, and those fonts (Chinese ones too) remind me of the super cheap-ass cassette tapes of Chinese pop music I used to buy at the supermarket.

The cassette covers had the lyrics printed inside (usually) and they were always all haphazardly set and in a mix of fonts just depending on the original source it was pirate copied from, no doubt.

Some 25 years on, I can look up the titles of those songs and find them on YouTube, ha.

It's an obscure recent craze; you probably haven't heard of it.

What with the wank he does at the end with the Tek Jansen card? It's kind of a weird-tie in, I don't really think it's that accurate. His card looks like a throwback to TV Funhouse, which itself was mostly a throwback to the shiatty Hanna-Barbara cartoons of the 70s.

That's kos the guy who did the article was the same guy who did the cartooning for TV Funhouse.

Took me a while to recognize it too, I admit.
