Babies R Us should be on the list. That is a hotbed of sexual harassment, racism and religious discrimination.

Microsoft. They can eat a bowl of dicks.

2012-01-14 07:59:11 PM
I have a problem.

2 of my top 10 would be Time Warner and AT&T.

Guess who my only 2 choices are for high speed Internet.

Not my list, but what I expected:

1. Wal-Mart
2. Bank of America
3. Goldman-Sachs
4. Halliburton
5. Blackwater
6. Fannie Mae
7. Freddie Mac
8. USPS
9. Microsoft
10. Duke

Insert any bank or any phone company at any position.

SevenizGud: 8. USPS

Why do people hate them? They bring my mail -- and I like mail -- and while people bemoan the price of stamps/shipping, take a look at FedEx's prices one day and realize what kind of a deal it is. I just never go to the post office because the employees are dicks, in general, but I have no problem with the USPS and mail carriers.

Because they never bring MY mail. They bring my next-door neighbor's mail.

Ugh, Sears. That used to be my favorite place to go shopping with my dad when I was a kid. I got a Sears gift card for Christmas, so I went to the Sears at Crabtree today. The only salespeople I could find were in the appliance department, and there weren't many customers. The clothing department was also odd...the racks were spaced a little too far apart, and it was clear that they didn't have as much merchandise as they would like for you to believe. Oh, they had no digital calipers, so I didn't get to use my gift card.

Nokia is hated? By who? Who even owns one in the US and is upset enough to care?

I hate monsanto. I hate fox news. I hate wells fargo. Sears? Hating sears is a waste of energy. Sears is scenery for shopping areas. That's like hating a cloud.

Whatever the hell Blackwater's calling itself these days.
Activision.
EA.
Whoever keeps making them crappy Monster HDMI cables what are overpriced.
Gateway.

Federal Reserve Bank?

Apple unsuprisingly absent, although if people knew more about the kinds of lawsuits they're trying to push or the tactics they're employing to try to have competition banned worldwide they'd definitely have a spot.

Big media obviously behind SOPA more conspicuously absent -- guess calling them out is bad politics until the farking thing passes.

Anyway... any of these names should have been there. Millionaire welfare recipients can suck my dick. Actually it's worse than welfare, because these mercenaries being paid huge salaries out of our tax dollars are actually under the impression that they are providing some kind of valuable service.

serpent_sky: Pancoaifo: God I hate that damn pig. But the girlfriend's kids respond like it's hypno toad.

Good thing kids buy a lot of auto insurance, no?

Sprint is my most hated company. I am so infuriated by them attempting to collect $200 for canceling a service plan when they repeatedly (5 times) sold me defective phones, I just yell "call my lawyer" at them. (Which is a nice benefit to having a husband who is a lawyer.) I think at this point, I am just fighting them on principle, since it surely has cost them much more than $200 to the collection agencies who are battling with my husband for a year and a half now.

I also despise Home Depot after stupidly using them to install windows in my house. What a wretched experience. They said they'd be here at 9am and showed up at 4:30 pm, on a night I was cooking a meal for about 12 friends. And they were installing windows in my kitchen. Everyone, from the installers to the people who I called to ask where the installers were, were rude. A couple of weeks later, I got a new washer/dryer from Sears. On time, courteous service, and a follow-up call to make sure everything went well. What more could anyone ask for?

I love Sprint. Unlimited data makes up for damn near everything else they may do that sucks. Plus, they gave me a 25% employee discount when I used some dude on the internet's info to sign up for the discount.

2012-01-15 10:01:00 AM
I like Sears. I buy my shirts there because I can get men's dress shirts for under $15, usually under $10.

Yes I have to hunt down a cashier, but that becomes an adventure.

1. Wal-Mart
2. Goldman-Sachs/Bank of America
3. Halliburton
4. Blackwater
5. All Mobile Companies
6. All Cable Companies
7. Disney, Sony Paramount
8. Facebook
9. Much of the Medical Industry
10. Oil/Gas companies involved in fracking
11. The defense industry, including GE

Most of you have left out the medical industry, oil and gas (I guess Koch industries appliest there), but those farks pushing SOPA and the defense industry. This list could easily be 30 to 40 companies long and never reach 7 out of the 10 on that list.

2012-01-15 12:15:29 PM

bravian: This About That: List fails with Koch Industries, whose big boss funds the Tea Party, which will happily tear down the government to avoid regulating pollution.

Do you ever have direct dealings with Koch Industries? Most likely you have no idea what they even make or produce. So how is it going to show up on a list of hated companies based on consumer experience?

/the Koch brothers also give massive amounts of money to the ACLU and Cancer research

Go ahead, white knight Koch. Christ, is there anything you shill assholes won't farking white knight?

Fish in a Barrel: Netflix still amazes me. Destroying that much goodwill that quickly takes true talent.

Truth. Just for going from so loved to so hated, Netflix should be much higher.

Hell, Halliburton's profits are essentially tied to the number of innocent non-white civilians killed, and I hate Netflix even more than them.

Oh sweet motherfarking God yes.

Just hearing that name reminds me of below-mediocre cafeteria food in my dorm at college.

Uncle Tractor: Monsanto? (new window)

Was my first thought, too.

But sadly they have a pretty solid grip on US media, which tells citizens what to hate.

Dear all 800 million pissed off Facebook users,

You are not Facebook's customer. You are Facebook's product. Your option to satisfy your dissatisfaction is to cease to be a Facebook product, which you may do at any time.

Sincerely,

The Market.

Surprised to not see Quest Diagnostics on the list; customers complain, and the employees complain even more.

18.4% of comments mention Comcast...

Some of these choices just strike me as more pathetic than hated:

Nokia - wtf? hated? there are at least 6 other handset companies. Just because no one buys their stuff anymore means that they are hated. I do mourn the end of Symbian/Sybian jokes their demise has caused.
Best Buy - I think most people just consider them and their customers pathetic
Sears - again, I just pity them
Netflix - I still enjoy the product they provide and consider the price reasonable, though they did botch their PR completely. They should have simply been completely transparent and honest with what was happening. Just say the studios massively jacked the fees they charged for content and that they have to pass that cost onto the customer.

I'm calling BS on this list. Lots of banks, phone providers, TV providers and airlines paid some one to stay off of this list.

2012-01-16 05:27:53 AM
Sony leaked millions of personal information and credit card through their inept security... and didn't make the list.?

2012-01-16 10:59:56 AM

Mugato: Compared to other leading social media sites, however, Facebook has the lowest customer satisfaction score from the American Customer Satisfaction Index

And yet people look at me like I have a dick growing out of my forehead when I tell them I don't have a Facebook account. So they can't be that hated.

Where the fark is Haliburton? I guess having a no bid contract to rebuild a country their former CEO destroyed isn't as bad as raising rates on movie rentals. Or are people's memory that short?

America the beautiful

GE

although, I was a little thoughtless. not sure if the list is most hated american companies or most hated companies in america. if the former, my list needs to be altered.

/ also, perhaps you can see my bias against irresponsible energy harvesting.
