I've gotten hooked on 6alabat since moving to Kuwait, and I suspect it will be one of the hardest parts of readjusting back to Stateside life.

"Bring me some donuts! And a pizza! And...steaks! Five of 'em!"

"Very good sir, 30 minutes."

First they add drive-through and eliminate the exercise of walking into the place from your car.

Now they eliminate the effort of using the gas pedal and steering wheel.

What next, will they chew it for you?

I'm surprised they're not doing it in a more densely populated area like New York. I think it could do well in an area like that.

Seems to be a trend for fast food restaurants in Asia too.

2012-01-14 09:18:24 AM
Very good sir, will that be 10 chews or 15? With or without spittle? And fries mixed in?

Wow. Delivery. What a novel concept.

I get my McDs and KFC delivered.

With soda.

Yay communism!

I bet that college towns, like the one I went to, already have fast food delivery. I have gotten McDonald's delivery more than once- good when everyone in the room is too drunk to drive.

I drove pizza for Papa Johns in college. When I was hard up for cash, I'd call up the delivery before I left and ask if they wanted anything else as our store was right next to a grocery store. I delivered lots of cigarettes and milk for fat tips.

Subway used to deliver here in Iowa City.

In Costa Rica, all the fast food restaurants deliver. It's heaven.

It's really the only choice for food in Shanghai without going outside after Sherpas is closed...

Here in Kansas City, I know they have services that'll pick you up dinner from sit-down establishments, so I don't see why not fast food.

I've always thought a restaurant that delivered hamburgers was a million dollar idea.

If my local ramen shop had bacon ramen I would never leave my table.

Not even to defecate.

One day they'll just come to your house, shove a tube down your throat, and pump fat and sugar into your gut until a little burbles out of your nose. That way they'll know you're full.

Anyone who lives in or around DC should know that you can't get very far in 10 minutes.

Nothing beats that.

This has been in the works for monthts; the BK near my house has had a sign advertising for delivery drivers since
at least the lat summer, and I thought it rather odd but haven't really thought much of it since.

I'd never use that service myself, even though I like BK better than most fast food.

My wife, when she lived in Deleware (of all places), had a service like this. I've always wanted to try to start something like that up here in New Orleans... where we have like 500 restaurants within like 30 square miles... and few of them deliver. And those that do, only generally deliver within a few blocks.

Never understood why delivery sucks so bad down here, in one of the 2-3 food capitals of the country, with a very densely packed downtown/uptown.

The only place that will deliver across the entire city are chinese places, and while their service is awesome, the food is kinda meh.

If you're going to get delivery, wouldn't you opt for something better?

I mean, the point of Burger King is you're on the road, hungry, and just want *something* right now. And fast, because you're busy as hell.

If I'm relaxing at home, I'm getting a pizza or burger from a real burger joint.

Seriously. And better would be nearly anything.

Or you need to poo and the gas station restrooms are filthy and the rest stops have creepy homos milling about.

Can't deliver the fountain drinks easily, and sealed bottles would be a whole new investment for the company.

In other news, DUIs down 50% in the DC area.

/$2 for delivery? That's cheap!

Switch to plastic cups and the heat sealed on lids. They could charge a little more for delivery drinks, I suppose. Only problem would be with having to buy a new machine just for that.

Why the hell not! when you've got plenty of Mexican's and blacks who'll do it for 1.25 per hour and use their own cars!!

Freedom lives!!

If it were pre-microwave burger BK, hell yes.

Once the "flame broiler" went away, the already questionable quality went with it.

2012-01-14 09:54:27 PM
Yeah, we've been getting ads in the mail advertising that they deliver and what they can deliver. I thought it was strange. I mean, come on, WE'RE the test subjects? Why not someplace like Kentucky or West Virginia? And we don't really have that many BKs around here. We have much more Wendy's and KFCs than BK.

Everyone knows that Mexican's and Black's time is only worth about a 1/3 of our time.
