Now they just need to drop their prices.
$160 for 6 cubs and no charger?? No thanks.

Cut the price by a factor of 5, give it some WiFi and an API so you can adjust the sensitivity, speed, and logic processes, and you could see a real hobbyist robot movement.

Just think of the Caturday possibilities alone!

Cubelets: Because Fark Legos.

I had some of these in my car while driving, they grabbed the wheel and told me that I was experiencing a car accident.

Does the guy come with the Cubelets? 'Cause he really seems like a vital component here.

They look like they would be very helpful in building a Rube Goldberg machine. But really not much else.

Meh.

That's a cool idea. Sounds pricey, but I like the simplicity of playing with building a robot. Since its just divided into different parts already it makes it simpler to work out.

The funny looking guy didn't say whether or not they could cook me some nice, delicious, crispy bacon... so I passed.

Hey, for $160, I'll even bring the bacon.

Pretty neat concept but I think we just saw all the "good stuff" you can make with them at this stage.

Agreed, although a factor of 5 might be hard to pull off. Even half price would be a start, but it sounds like the batteries they are using are custom for this project (they at least claim you can't use other batteries of the same style, because the voltage is different).
What they really need is a way to charge the set all at once. The charger can only handle 2 batteries, taking 1.5-3 hours, and each block takes 2 batteries.

This may be one of those ideas that's a little ahead of its time - the robotics tech is there, but the battery and other component costs aren't quite low enough to make it practical as a "toy"

You could do some pretty cool stuff with temperature sensors and a 4-wheel robot - like map the hot/cold spots in a warehouse or other large open space so you can find leaks & poorly insulated pipes.

Just looking at the picture makes me want to grab my shotgun and a P90. If they can take down the Asgard they're too scary for me.

So the instantiate method needs access to my credit card and doesn't return a result for 5-8 business days?
