Y'know, if the politicians hadn't bent over and taken it in the ass repeatedly from the likes of Disney and the RIAA, maybe all these songs they want to use in their political ads would be Public Domain by now, and available to use.

This is not a repeat of every election year? Where's the candidate that's gonna use the Foo Fighters this year?

I'd say this was SOPA hypocrisy, but Romney has a wishy-washy position that's been interpreted as being against it. [EFF] (Or not.)

I was hoping it would be "She Bop".

Because that would be funny, and by funny I mean another case of a Republican politician misunderstanding a song's meaning.

I'm calling BS on the Barracuda controversey. Heart put the song out there for licensing, the McCain campaign paid for the rights, and then Nancy Wilson started whining. If you don't want certain people using your songs, don't take their money. If you do take their money (and never give it back), you have no right to complain about the song's usage.

I'm greatly amused that Hannity uses a song about spousal abuse and revenge for said abuse as his theme song.

Why would anyone use his songs in the first place?

Nugent isnt exactly Bob Dylan or Woodie Guthrie.

When i think of great songwriters, i think of Paul Simon, Lennon and Mc Cartney, Johnny Cash, Nigel Tufnel, etc...

Ron Paul is the most clearly anti-imperialist American I have encountered in any medium. Most of the world farking hates you guys for always farking around in our internal affairs.

Ron Paul wants that to end before the Military and drug companies are the only functioning part of your economy.

But yeah, fark actually living well. You'll just shoot your detractors then take some placebos and pray to your president.

The problem is that RON PAUL does want to end our hegemony but also everything else that the feds fund. He wants to take us back into the early 20th century. I sorta like my folks having Medicare and Social Security without having to rely on "charity".

Well, he doesn't. With no comment on whether it's reasonable or not, he wants to reduce the FDA (by 40%), not abolish it. The agencies he wants to abolish are HUD, Commerce, Energy, Interior, and Education. HHS (FDA's parent agency) gets a freeze. Feel free to bash whomever you'd like, but aim for facts instead of blind stupidity.

They shouldn't have to rely on "charity" they should be able to rely on "you". Hence the point of a healthy stable World economy.

are using the same music illegally in their campaigns to be re-elected so they can incarcerate you

You ever notice how it always seems to be the "tough on crime" conservatives who are always getting dinged for these types of copyright violations? Its a typical wealthy classist attitude... "I'm rich so the rules don't apply to me."

Actually, the whole GOP lineup is the monkeywrench of the GOP. RON PAUL is just a symptom of the disease.

At this point, anyone saying that they're voting republican should be immediately committed, because it's obvious that they're a danger to themself and others.
