You know, Legos are just too damn expensive to let kids play with them.

nope, those weren't the droids I was looking for

I'm a complete lego dork, but I could never snap that many white bricks together.

Why would you call that a model of Apollo 11? That's a Saturn V with a launch tower that just happens to have an Apollo capsule on it. The capsule is a very minor part.

Indeed. Hector here would have been more appropriate, being off by only two revisions.

A minifig-scale Saturn V. Jesus. Some LEGO builders are nuts.

Repetitive bulk models are so Mega Bloks. Lego is about detail and piece-interaction these days.

And he included a compartment for dry ice, apparently. Nice effect.

No, a model is about detail. Legos are about Legos.

fark Lego. Can't do anything but build the kit they sell you, and then, they don't have the goddamn common courtesy to give you proper storage for it. Even the lunchmeat I buy has a resealable Tupperware package.

Then buy the kit you want.

zato_ichi: Even the lunchmeat I buy has a resealable Tupperware package.

Then have a ham sammich, build your LEGO set, and put the bricks in the now-empty container when you're done.

Seriously, are you still working on proficiency with doorknobs and shower faucets?

If you're completely terrible at building, sure. Here's some people that aren't.

I admit I can remember the last time I saw Lego in a store that wasn't packaged to build specific things, but you can get tubs of generic blocks, door archways, windows and such on-line.

If you're lucky enough to have a Lego store in your area you can buy individual bricks. But it's still god awful expensive. Anywhere from 10 cents to 30 cents a brick.

Also, why don't they mention the cost in these Lego sculptures? They always mention number of bricks and hours to build but never cost.

You can get pretty much any brick, color, quantity that you want by searching the thousands of stores at BrickLink (new window)

Ehm - no. You build the kit, look at it for 20 minutes. The take it apart and build something else. Combining it with the bits from your other kits.

I hope, one day, to find the will and determination to put this much effort into one thing. And I also hope that one thing is more productive and useful than building a big-ass Lego model.

/But hey, I've never made a Fark headline, so who am I to judge.

But can it do this? (new window)
