I am the proud owner of mid-30's produced S&W model 10. It belonged to my grandfather, who left it in the glovebox of his car for the better part of 30 years with a very occasional cleaning and firing.

It works today as well it did then, and I have more faith in it than the 3 inch Taurus I bought brand new a few years ago.

I've been thinking of getting a used .38 revolver instead of a pistol. But, I hated cleaning the revolver I once had.

If you shoot it, it requires cleaning. The cleaning part is usually a lot longer than the shooting part.

I know that the US and UK have different views about guns, but FOR FARK'S SAKE, PEOPLE, you might want to think about increasing the severity of this kind of offence!

It's a low-level crime right up until the point that the bullet hits someone.

Unfortunately, the status of the offenses as misdemeanors will bar one means of depriving the suspect of a means to legally possess firearms.
