More stupid, ineffectual rules.

But I gotta say, they didn't exactly pick the best pro-jammies advocate.

"I wear my (pajama) pants anywhere," Tisdem said. "I'm an American, and I can wear my clothes anywhere I want. I'm a grown man. I pay my own bills, so I can wear my clothes the way I want. I don't know why it's an issue."

No. No you're not.

While I do openly mock people who wear their pajamas around town, I don't see the need for legislation.

Khiry Tisdem, of Shreveport, has no problem going out in his "Family Guy" Stewie pajama pants.

"I wear my (pajama) fat pants anywhere," Tisdem said. "I'm an American fat, and I can wear my fat clothes anywhere I want. I'm a grown man fat. I pay my own bills, so I can wear my fat clothes the way I want. I don't know why it's an issue I'm fat."

Williams said after seeing a group of young men at a local Walmart wearing pajama pants that revealed one young man's private parts

Wouldn't it make more sense to have a law making it illegal to walk around with your junk out?

Oh wait, Louisiana. Nevermind.

Well, what about Pajama JEANS?

Ha! LOOPHOLE. Check and mate, motherf*cker,

Why did they not just pick a hot and lazy sorostitute?

Or have they all moved on to yoga pants now?

That said, I did occasionally run across the street in my pajamas when I lived next to the farmer's market and woke up late so I could grab food for the week. Because I could, and because it was just across the street, and only one day a week. And because I partied the night before and was going right back to bed after that anyway.

So I guess I'm not one to talk, although I'm fairly certain I haven't worn pajamas in public before and after (Girl Scout sleeping-in-the-observatory event notwithstanding).

2012-01-13 06:31:50 PM
Look, I think people wearing their pajamas in public are as stupid as the next guy does, but isn't the ability to do so freedom of speech or expression or something? Besides, I want to be able to quickly judge the stupid people.

basemetal: While I do openly mock people who wear their pajamas around town, I don't see the need for legislation.

Pretty much this. If a guy's junk is hanging out, why don't you enforce the laws covering nudity/indecency in public rather than making pajamas illegal to wear in public.

2012-01-13 06:33:37 PM

"Today it's pajamas," Williams said. "Tomorrow it's underwear. Where does it stop?"

It stops at the cock ring.

It takes like 90 second to throw on an acceptable outfit, you lazy uncouth louts.

There are already laws that cover this, you farking dunce.

Call the police and tell them a guy is walking around with his dong hanging out instead of trying to dictate what's acceptable to wear when I'm making a milk run at midnight.

part of the fun of youth is walking around with your junk out when being mischievous with your mates. back in my day we dangled our delights from short cut blue jeans. maybe politician face should try to remember what it's like to be a young cut-up.

Um, don't they have indecent exposure laws already? What more is needed?

DIAF.

Or wait, survive one and need to be in public?

Jail-em.

I are retarded and need laws to address are retardation...

DIAF-squared, jammies and all...

Jammies burn fast, I've heard.

It's the plastic.

Caddo Parish District 3 Commissioner Michael Williams doesn't care to see people in their PJs, at least not at a shopping center, restaurant or anywhere else in public.

Williams said after seeing a group of young men at a local Walmart wearing pajama pants that revealed one young man's private parts, he decided to push for an ordinance that would prohibit wearing pajama pants in public.

"Pajamas are designed to be worn in the bedroom at night," Williams said. "If you can't (wear pajamas) at the Boardwalk or courthouse, why are you going to do it in a restaurant or in public? Today it's pajamas," Williams said. "Tomorrow it's underwear. Where does it stop?"

You know what Mr. Williams? Your job is to work for the best interest of society. Not use your powers to carry out your petty little wishes.

Fire this man immediately.

As much as I hate pajamas in public, it shouldn't be illegal. People just need to gain some self respect and standards.

2012-01-13 06:38:56 PM
What if I wear my normal pants to bed? Can I still wear them outside?

2012-01-13 06:40:25 PM
Define pajamas. Or are you going to make flannel pants illegal? Sweats?

WHERE WILL IT END??

How in the hell am I supposed to go to Wal Mart? Guess I gotta rent me one of them Tux-E-does every time I need a new fuse for the trailer.

You paying?

2012-01-13 06:41:36 PM
So a few people don't know how to dress appropriately. That's not something the government should regulate. This a totally unnecessary law!

FTA: "I wear my (pajama) pants anywhere," Tisdem said. "I'm an American, and I can wear my clothes anywhere I want. I'm a grown man. I pay my own bills, so I can wear my clothes the way I want. I don't know why it's an issue."

Tisdem, you're not a grown man, not if you're wearing your jammies to go to the store.

2012-01-13 06:43:11 PM
So, specifically, how does one forensically define "pajamas"?

2012-01-13 06:43:13 PM
Yet another "guess the political party of the politician" story. If he's a Republican and he does something stupid, that he is a Republican will be prominently featured, usually in the headline, the first sentence, or as a minimum the first paragraph. If he's a Democrat there will be no mention of his party affiliation at all in the story. Let's see... hmmm... no mention. He must be a Democrat then, amirite? Let's check... BINGO!

Chinchillazilla: Look, I think people wearing their pajamas in public are as stupid as the next guy does, but isn't the ability to do so freedom of speech or expression or something? Besides, I want to be able to quickly judge the stupid people.

THIS

I think the people wearing their PJ's just look too lazy to care, and just generally look like slobs.

That said, I agree 100%, they are free to whatever the Hell they want. If someone's junk is hanging out, then get them on Independence charges, what is with these morons in charge who think the way to enforce compliance is to make MORE laws, rather than enforce the ones they already have? Take the great state of Utah for example, no shortage of stupid drinking related laws(Although you can drink openly in a privately owned place like the local amusement park, go figure), one of the silliest is what's known around here as the 'Zion Curtain', a glass partition that used to be required in a restaurant that served alcohol so the little kiddies wouldn't see a drink being mixed. I kid you not. Anyway, we are told that rules like this are to prevent underage drinking, and the reason that we can't buy alcohol at a grocery store is to cut down on drunk driving(Although I pass multiple grocery stores to get to the stupid liquor store). If they would just actively enforce the CURRENT laws on underage drinking and drunk driving, a lot less people would want to see their heads on a pike in front of the capitol.

Let's be clear: this is stupid and a violation of your right to free expression no matter which party you naively believe will do it all differently the next time you vote for them.

2012-01-13 06:45:58 PM
Also, if you're wearing pyjamas in public then it clearly implies that you haven't showered since getting out of bed and you're dirty as well as lazy.

In fact, just execute these people on sight.

2012-01-13 06:46:03 PM
Pajamas are typically thin flannel, which isn't very sturdy, so using them for out-and-about will mean they wear out sooner than other fabrics like denim. So in a way, these people are more American than the folks who oppose them. By wearing more fragile outfits, they will have to purchase more clothing more often, boosting the economy and keeping other Americans employed.

It's those naked people you have to look out for. They don't buy ANY clothes. The stinkin' commies.

2012-01-13 06:46:50 PM
This is a subtle ploy to get people to buy pajamas.

Why not just pass laws making it against the law to be stupid? Stupid laws could be like obscenity laws in that we know stupid when we see stupid.

I see we share a similar problem. We will probably be hunted down in the streets and skinned like animals.
