(The Daily Beast) Interesting Newly released FBI files show that the in 2000's they were preparing a massive RICO case against an organization involved in gun-running, money laundering, drugs, and car-jackings. Was it: A) The mafia? B) MS-13? or C) The Wu-tang Clan?   (thedailybeast.com) divider line 48

I would have gone with 'apparently, they were something to fark with' but the original also works.

That whole season was written like it was a series finale and then magically changed the very last ep.

Torsoheap: Does this new information mean the ODB did not die from a drug overdose? New conspiracy?

You have to wonder how they drew straws at the Bureau to see who got what case:

"Who'd you get?"
"Bin Laden"

"How about you"
"The Zetas Cartel"

"and You?"
""Old Dirty Bastard"

Sure it's not the ATF?

Naw, they were happy to prosecute rappers. That's why the totally unrelated news clipping about Puff Daddy was in ODB's file.

But why were they going after Asian rappers. I thought the government only went after the blacks.

Wu Tang may be the best thing to ever come out of rap.

It didn't look like the whole clan was involved, I mean as you can clearly see it was mostly just ODB

Ah, the race draft -- one of the great non-Rick-James sketches from Chappelle's Show.

I saw Wu Tang open for Rage Against the Machine back in 1997. It was funny since 90% of the people at the show were white and my only experience with the Clan was from MTV

The most curious charges against ODB stemmed from an arrest on Nov. 12, 1997, when he was charged both with contempt and nonsupport of a child

the guy was an addict with at least 13 kids, what is curious about the charge, exactly?

/this is only the tip of the iceberg, wait till they find what's beneath the surface

2012-01-13 02:18:07 PM
Sounds like they should have focused their attentions on the gun running by the ATF instead.

I went looking for some album artwork a couple years ago while cleaning up my MP3 collection, and so pulled up the wikipedia page on Wu-Tang. When I read some of it it was.... surprising! I had no idea how big the organization got, nor how legitimately involved with crime some of the Wu-Tang adjunct members were. It was almost farcical.

How were they going to prosecute an entire clan? I mean, sure a couple of guys from their village came to America a while back, but the entire clan? Pfffttt.

ODB couldn't have possibly committed all those crimes.
