The Zeitgeist movement "works globally to spread information about a new social system called a Resource Based Economy" and reportedly inspired Jared Lee Loughner
I am familiar with their ideas I don't think they are workable on this planet but pretty sure they don't advocate people to shoot congresspeople.

The letters demanded that America "neutralize" all its nuclear weapons and arrest unnamed individuals "responsible for unnecessary crimes of War, poverty, and suffering of families in the world" and bring them "to OHare Air Force Base for a live, unedited trial on TV, just like American Idol where people vote to determine results."
To me, this just sounds like a prank. Why was he arrested?
From
linked prior article
:
O'Donnell also allegedly signed the letters "Osama Bin Laden," and in them claimed that "Al-Qaeda" had put "160 remotely-controlled nuclear bombs throughout the country in schools, churches, hospitals, financial institutions, and government buildings," the release says.
Oh.
// Maybe they should have mentioned that in this new article.

Makes sense. After watching a season of American Idol and seeing the freaks of nature we have in this country I wanted to destroy America too.

Can someone explain exactly what is illegal about these letters? What I saw doesn't threaten harm or violence, etc. How is this not just FREE SPEECH? It reads like a joke to me.
Seriously, I'm hoping someone who knows, can explain how this is illegal and not protected speech.

I'm confused. From TFA:
"FBI officials knew the letters were a hoax from the beginning, but the threats were still a violation of the law. Ten months later, they say they've got their man."
"Timothy O'Donnell, the 51-year-old man charged last week with sending the letters, apparently first came to attention of the authorities when they noticed the same IP address had visited websites affiliated with recipients of the mailings within a few days of when the letters were mailed."
So.. how does this mean Osama watched American Idol?

Law enforcement agents found an envelope similar to those sent to recipients of the letter in the trash outside his own residence.

Guantanamo Bay is still open for business.
And once everybody involved in
American Idol
is incarcerated, there's no law or court that can get them out again.
Think about it. Seriously.
I've always hated the contrived game show/soap opera BS of "reality" shows. I thought OBL spent most of his time vanity surfing the web and watching his old Press Releases, but maybe he had a lot of time on his hands for stupid TV.

That's....actually pretty clever. Would not expect such from the FBI.

If Osama enjoyed watching an American show featuring American citizens, doesn't this contradict our governments portrayal of him being hell bent on destroying America and all things associated? Were SEAL team 6 kill-on-site orders really necessary?

The double negative has led to proof positive.... and Afghanistan was just a red herring.

What a shame it is that Bill Hicks died in 1994. I'd love to hear his take on American Idol, in addition to many, many other modern topics.
