Someone's getting creative with the headlines.

2012-01-13 01:25:24 AM
Word on the street is she hangs out at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, but tickets cost about tree fiddy.

2012-01-13 01:43:53 AM
That might be better than the shark headline!

2012-01-13 04:33:23 AM
A friend of mine met the Family Ness on holiday last night. He lives in remote Scottish Highlands and there were strange sounds outside in the night. It's the only explanation.

Well, I can't think of any other logical explanation, can you? No, this proves Nessie is real, and takes holidays. So i'll be taking that money, thank you very much.

2012-01-13 04:42:41 AM
Well, I guess if we must, we must. I met Nessie several times. She was not much to look at, I am sad to say. She frequented the Ten Bells and frankly, she tried to take men between her thighs rather than into her most intimate place... I do not mean to be crude, but perhaps it is necessary. Oh, poor Nessie. She died from the cheap gin, of course. The East End shouldn't have ever been a place for the fairer sex. As a doctor I did my best for her, but of course it was merely a question of whether the rotgut would get her before the diseases did. It's a matter of humanity - do not dismiss these folks as your lessers to die in gutters - they are truly human as you! Should you dismiss them it is only a matter of time before someone takes it upon himself to dismiss them viscerally and in a viler fashion than you can believe would be possible. I weep, I weep for the Nessies of this world.

Gona nee abou tree fiddy.

2012-01-13 05:14:04 AM
Wow! Four squares equal a thousand pounds? Sign me up! I got plenty of square things.

2012-01-13 05:24:51 AM
This is a damn good headline.

2012-01-13 05:27:13 AM
A thousand poond to slay the merciless monster? Och, ye tight gits.

2012-01-13 05:29:23 AM
Couldn't see the headline on my shiatty work computer but it comes out fine on the iPhone. Well played, subster.

Also... "Nessie" was an elephant. Seriously... GIS for "elephant swimming" and you'll see what I mean immediately.

Yes there were circuses in the area at the time of the first alleged photo.

I believe that was "Nelly".

How much is Ogopogo?

2012-01-13 05:51:50 AM
I thought the headline had something to do with tortoise shepherding. This will do.

2012-01-13 05:58:50 AM
I stood on the shore of Loch Ness a few years ago with my 4-year old son. He was jumping up and down with joy he will never recapture shouting "Daddy! Daddy! I can see Nessie!" So balls to logic and reason.

No, I couldn't see the monster. Don't care.

2012-01-13 05:58:57 AM
HOTY. I knew exactly what it was without clicking the link. +2 subby

2012-01-13 06:08:05 AM
If you discovered what is essentially a living dinosaur, and fabled sea creature, I would hope you'd have a bit more than 1000 pounds coming to you.

The precise value of such a find is difficult to calculate, but most would put the value at oh about tree fitty.

can anybody post a picture of the headline from a working computer/device?

A thousand pounds! Oh great, I can get a bottle of champagne, a cheap hooker and a hotel room. I'll get right on that "Nelly Hunt" right now.

Silly cryptozoologists. Look, this is simple. It is 2012. In the last 120 years, there have been more technical advances that in the entirety of all human existence. We have access to highly sensitive monitoring equipment and extremely high definition audio and video capture hardware and software. If the Loch Ness Monster actually existed, it would have been found now. The simple fact is that it just does not exist. Same goes with Big Foot.

Of a dark Scottish loch

I don't think it's a browser thing, it's seems to be OS thing.

I have two PC's one XP and a Win7, both run FIrefox 9.0.1. In XP the headline looks like garbage, but in WIn7 it looks like what you posted.

These nessie people are ridiculous. This is the longest running farce in history. These morons know good and well there is no loch ness monster, but they keep inspiring this stupid myth to drum up business. I know this is a topic ripe for humorous comments, but when it comes to this issue I just lose my damn mind. I hate this crap a lot.

After this contest, lets have a contest on who can show the best Jack-a-lope sighting. Or the best abominable snowman sighting.

dennysgod: In XP the headline looks like garbage,

It's because XP is missing the extra unicode files which now come standard. What do ya expect from an (almost) 11-year old operating system?

2012-01-13 09:06:45 AM
only 1000? multiply that by at least 1000, just for a clear undoctored RAW photo file. Now if I can lasso and saddle break that doggie, it'll be a heck of a lot more than that just to pay for a ride!

2012-01-13 09:10:14 AM
I thought the headline was about ducks.

Actually, the people who took the original admitted it was a fake. I wanna say it was actually a toy submarine with a toy sea monster's head attached.

Yup. Encoding is set to UTF-8, browser is Firefox.
Just checked, IE shows the same.

Must be a specific font that needs to be installed..?
