John Buck 41: Sickapie: The Ice Queen: Savarose: Welcome Caturday! Brutal week here too-and now here comes winter again. Rearranged my work schedule so I could stay home in case it's bad. Glad to have that option this week.

Any Alien updates?

Benny passed away :(

OMG. No.

That was my reaction Tuesday morning when I came back to check on the end of the thread. I had logged off and went to bed literally seconds before valnt9 posted the news. Thoughts of Alien and Ben Hurr (and Gremlin) have been in my head ever since.

Wishing Alien and Gremlin ALL the best and an end to bad things happening to good people.

And....a cat.

I am so sorry to hear this. I completely flaked out last weekend and missed out on Caturday.

Greetings, All... I actually found Caturday on Thursday.. First time ! Kept scanning till I found posts.. yay.. Hoping we hear from Alien this weekend.. are there any updates on 'The Plan'?.. I have a calico that was abandoned at a rental property down the street.. with kittens.. they have homes, kept 'MamaCat' .. my 'official' office cat.. her favorite position is directly in front of me at whatever desk I am at, pushing everything off of the desk that is in her way... it does make me keep a cleaner desk, though.. she used to park on top of the CRT, trying to catch the cursor.. have the flatscreen under a shelf to keep her away.. claws are rough on flatscreens.. once I learn to include photos, I'll introduce the 'family'.. 8 plus the feral cat.. and I have pictures of him, also.

DingleberryMoose: Haruko_Haruhara: maynerdkitty: 28's warm up here in January, trust me.

/stupid MI weather

We hit a high near 70 a couple of days last week. Low last night was 19.

We had warm enough weather here for me to run into another diamondback in mid December! And I really did run into it, I had gone under part of the damaged fence to ask the neighbor if we could bring the tractor onto his land. I was on the ground under the fence when I saw it move about four feet from my head. Stupid thing was supposed to be hibernating. It measured five feet long nose to rattles.
and now some warm and fuzzy kitties. Li-Ion was helping me knit.

ya gotta sleep, sure hope Sir Galahad either comes or is brought home soon. It should help that he's chipped.
Sickapie, if you have or can make the time, last Caturday should still be available in Last 7 Days. It was nowhere as long as the previous Caturday, so you may have the chance to see most of What's In There before it defaults into the Farkives.

It seems that I generally stumble in here before beddy-bye time for us. There's a funeral service of a chorusmate of Plumbicon's to attend in the AM, to be sung at. Visitation was this eve; no casket then or on the morrow, body went to the local medical school. Local Marine League chapter was much in evidence, it seems that so many of these guys now passing away were Marines in World War 2.

Lualaja My father in law was a Merchant Marine in WWII. He has seen many pass. Same thing for my Uncle y marriage. He was a radio man. So glad that my son has heard their stories. Living history..

And both of " my" veteran boys had cats in their lives. Both enjoy Eli, who is remarkably well behaved with them both...He somehow Knows they need to be treated a bit more delicately..

James72: Happy Caturday everyone. I'm off to California for the weekend.

Argh, you lucky man. I don't head back to California until next weekend. That means that I won't be here for Caturday next week, but it means that I'm FINALLY GOING HOME. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the opportunity to make money, help out a unit that needed another officer, and leave things better than when I arrived, but I so dearly miss the West Coast!

Just doing a drive-by posting before I try to stuff myself into bed. Mornings get here WAY too early, and I hafta be at the unit for PT by 0600. For your amusement, Sassy in a sink, taken a couple of days ago. Apparently it is our litmus test for whether or not it is clean.

And him in the sink from our last apartment. Because it amuses me.

ya gotta sleep sometime: Sir Galahad is chipped and I put the notice on Home Again that he's lost. I went to one shelter at lunch and they'd already seen the notice from Home Again and wanded all their new intakes, even the ones who didn't match the description. I called the humane society where I volunteer and told them about him, they're familiar with him so they're on the lookout. Called the neighbors and had the realtor check the garage of the empty house out back. Put a lost cat notice in the local paper, it comes out tomorrow. Ok, have I thought of everything? I've never lost a cat like this, it is horrible! The not knowing is the worst! If I just knew that he was warm and safe I would be so much better. Thank you all for your kind words and wishes that he returns home safely.

The only other thing I can think of would be to make up a flyer with his photo, etc., and post around your neighborhood, if possible. I did this when my Harley went missing back in 2004. I also faxed it to every vet's office in town, Animal Control, and all the shelters.

Good luck!!!

every place a cat may wind up within about a 10 mile radius of your home

also give a photo to the police, fire dept and the trash collectors. they're the ones who see the neighborhood.

happy early caturday everyone! remember about a month ago when I asked everyone for their prayers, crossed fingers, toes, paws that I would get a job I was a finalist for? I took another job that was offered but wasn't really what I wanted (they make me work 6 days a week including EVERY Caturday)???? Well, this week I got a call from the first one and the person they picked over me quit after a couple of weeks and they offered me the job! The only downside is that I will be taking a major ding in income for the 60 day probationary period but it will be a decent income after that (darn it.......I desperately need new tires as I was reminded today driving home with horrible snow covered and slippery roads).

Anyway, the power of Caturday worked even though it was delayed a little.

Just something for everyone (but especially Alien) who is having some rough sledding in life, whether financially, jobwise, family-related, health, kitteh/doggeh problems, ad nauseum....hopefully this will, give you a lift. I've always found this song to be incredibly uplifting when I'm down.

Oh, and if you get the chance to see this woman live....GO!. Jo Dee Messina is an amazing performer.

Ya know, you are an a$$- to put it mildly. Maybe, if you hung around, you would experience the wonder of this group. Yes, we have an "article" each week that gets green lighted but it is the "COMMUNITY" that makes Caturday what it is. Simply put, we are a family that accepts EVERYONE - we represent everyone - we accept ALL animal lovers.

AND, if you hung out more, we take care and support our fellow Caturdayers and total farkers.

(yea, I know, I am feeding a troll - but dag-nabnit - Cooper is doing good & we need to grieve for Benners & send good vibes for Gremlin and all kitties not doing so well. Heck, we need to say prayers for all our kitties and be thankful for their health)

Sorry - off my soap box
