Cooper is doing MUCH better. Thanks for asking. The antibiotic shot, the pills, or the IV fluids (or a combination of all) have done wonders. I think we averted the PU surgery this time. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and good thoughts.!! You guize are teh awesome!!

I need caturday good thoughts. Sir Galahad has gone on walkabout and has been gone for a few days. This isn't like him at all, he is usually home every night to snuggle to sleep and wants his gushie foods in the morning. I'm really worried and will appreciate the power of caturday to bring him home. I've walked the neighborhood, looked under all shrubs, in every nook and cranny I can find and he is just nowhere. I hope he's found a warm home with a nice family but the not knowing is killing me.

My Dinah got out & went walkabout a few weeks ago; she got into my neighbor's yard, & since Dinah's not an outside cat, my neighbor didn't recognize her. Took D to her vet, & the microchip led her over to me!

On the rare occasion one of my clowder decides to take a 'business trip' I invoke the 'lost cat' function of my local paper.
It's usually free and they run the ad for 3 days before you need to renew it (and by renew I mean ask them to run the ad again).

Hope this works...HATE it, absolutely HATE it when they go walkabout or take 'business trips'.

Sending good thoughts your way. Have you checked neighbors garages? Eli gets to hunting and forgets those doors close....Your local vet will sometimes post lost cat notices..

Oh no! Have you posted pictures at the local vets offices? You should also bring a picture to all the local animal shelters. Is he microchipped? Good luck finding your baby!

Hey, guys. Not supposed to be too bad tomorrow up here. 1"-2", if that. And temps still in the 20s-30s, which is REAL good for dead-o-winter in Detroit, especially after the last few years. I can do without the 20 below windchills, so anything above 20 degrees is 'warm'. Sort of. I just wish that the gas stations around here had the air pumps for your tires that didn't need two hands to use in this cold. Why they switched to those things is beyond me.

Had to take George to the vet yesterday, got a URI and wasn't very happy. Then was even less thrilled when I had to leave him there for a few hours while I was at my uncle's funeral. He's on antibiotics for the sniffles which have really helped. They think he might have chronic distemper though, still waiting on the test. They said if he's positive, I'll just have to keep him on the Lysine and he'll have the sniffles. It sucks but what can you do, that face is just too cute :)

He is a handsome fellow. There are alot of us who have cats on daily meds. Fortunately mine likes his Vetasyl sprinkles.keeps him from making poo puddles...

Sir Galahad is chipped and I put the notice on Home Again that he's lost. I went to one shelter at lunch and they'd already seen the notice from Home Again and wanded all their new intakes, even the ones who didn't match the description. I called the humane society where I volunteer and told them about him, they're familiar with him so they're on the lookout. Called the neighbors and had the realtor check the garage of the empty house out back. Put a lost cat notice in the local paper, it comes out tomorrow. Ok, have I thought of everything? I've never lost a cat like this, it is horrible! The not knowing is the worst! If I just knew that he was warm and safe I would be so much better. Thank you all for your kind words and wishes that he returns home safely.

Oh! speaking of poo puddles...Eli wanted to go out in the Florida room the other day..he curls up on the rattan couh and snoozes...then I got called to a job, cause the person got sick...and I forgot he was out there...with predictable results..in a corner, in The. Most. Difficult space to reach!

Alien, so sorry to hear about Benners. He was truly loved. I think all of us here have lost a furr baby and understand how you feel. We're all crying with you. Take care and know that we're here for you.

I'm so bad, I'm logged into my class and here I am on Fark. Its accounting, I hate accounting. Math is way toooooooooo boring for me. Even George looks bored sitting on my lap!

OMG. No.

That was my reaction Tuesday morning when I came back to check on the end of the thread. I had logged off and went to bed literally seconds before valnt9 posted the news. Thoughts of Alien and Ben Hurr (and Gremlin) have been in my head ever since.

Wishing Alien and Gremlin ALL the best and an end to bad things happening to good people.

And....a cat.

Good evening everyone, it is supposed to get cold here tonight, 28 by morning. The wind will be up too. Got home after dark and had to wrestle blankets on the horses, that was fun. They are all tucked in and fed for the night. I put extra hay in the nest boxes for the kitties in the chicken house, they are fat and furry and seemed happy. Tom and Li-Ion helped me put the duvet cover on my feather down, NOT!
